Home away from home ‘comfort’ and cleanlinessPosted Sep 15, 2014
Everything was clean and convenient. This is a rarity today, even when you pay top price. The Staff was very friendly.

It was great, right in the heart of restaurants, bars, and close to downtown and campus.

Outstanding hotel!Posted Jan 5, 2014 on Hotels.com
This was our first time staying at this hotel in State College. We usually stay at a different hotel for our frequent family trips but it was booked for the days we needed. I'm glad they were because this place was far nicer! The front desk staff were great. The room was perfectly clean. The hotel was in like-new condition. The pool area was warm, as was the pool itself, and the hot tub was just about right. Even the towels were great! The room towels were larger than most and the pool towels were big and fluffy and actually dried us off! The breakfast was quite tasty, but the breakfast area was oddly cramped. It seemed almost to be an afterthought...not well laid out at all. The only other issues were situational -- #1 - there was no hot breakfast available on New Year's day, which was not reflected on the website when we booked. That was a bummer and I felt like we should've had some kind of discount for that fact.....the free hot breakfast saves me a lot of money with a family of four. #2 - a group of families rented a block of rooms for New Year's Eve and proceeded to completely take over the common areas of the hotel - every single chair and table was taken up with their food, their drinks, their games. Not really the hotel's fault, but I think the group should've been told that they needed to rent a space rather than taking over areas that were supposed to be available for all hotel guests. Otherwise a great hotel! This is our new go-to hotel..

Generally comfortable, but the one bedroom suite was a little small and could only fit a queen bed, and the air conditioning was such that the room would get warm, then the air conidtioning would noisily turn on and then, when the room became comfortable, turn off and warm up again. The breakfast sporead was nice and the staff helpful. The hotel was a ways off the c ollege and downtown, but easily accessible by car.
