Clean room, no soundproofing between rooms

Posted Mar 3, 2014
Pros: near an Outback steakhouse, comfortable bed.
Room was clean, nice size and good layout. Bed VERY comfortable. However, there the soundproofing between rooms is not very good. Bunch of kids in for a wrestling tournament (hotel was polluted with kids screaming for PIZZA....PIZZA....PIZZA) and you could hear every cry, whimper, wine and laugh from he next room. Didn't complain because there is nothing a front desk clerk can do about poor engineering and I doubt there was a room in the hotel without kids nesting in an adjoining room. SO...I just watched TV till 3:00 am till the kids fell into a nice coma so that I could safely kill the TV and get some sleep.

Difficult to get heat to begin, poor breakfast, double beds higher at the foot of the beds and lower at headboards noticeable from the doorway not worth the high rating

Great family hotel for the State College area

Posted Jan 1, 2014
Pros: Lots of free parking Close to restaurants (Outback, Olive Gardens) Great pool and jacuzzi
Location: Great location for State College and area
On our way home south after the holidays, stopped at State College which was a great place to stay. Hotel was warm and friendly with a great pool for the kids (age 7 & 11) with a hot jacuzzi for me to relax in. Rooms were spacious with the extra seating area, and a small kitchette with coffee maker. The breakfast selection was good and hot, and the extra seating area and T. At reception meant that we didn't have to fall out over the kids TV vs NFL! A great hotel, highly recommended.
