Night stopover

Posted Aug 23, 2014
Pros: It's locality and the friendly atmosphere at check in and check out
Cons: I think it pretty good as it is
Location: We only used it as a stop off on our way to Washington DC so did not stop. However staff were happy to tell us of the things to see.
We arrived late in the afternoon and were welcomed by the girls on the front desk. Nothing was any trouble to them and directed us to a great place to have a meal.

Nice for the Price

Hotel is older and the decor a bit run-down, but the staff was friendly, the room was clean and the bed and pilliows were comfortable.

Shabby hotel

Posted Aug 22, 2014
Pros: The staff
Cons: Everything needs to be remodeled.
Location: State College is a small college town so basically everything is near by.
The room was clean and the staff was very nice and friendly, but the rooms are very updated and the colors of the walls and doors just do not help make you feel comfortable. The breakfast is just like any other hotel's continental. I think next time I will spend a little more and stay somewhere else. This should be a 1 star not 2.

good hotel for the price

Posted Jul 22, 2014
Pros: Price good for a clean, quiet and comfortable room.
Cons: I rather have it a little "old" then priced higher
Location: Penn State is the main attraction, but also enjoyed hiking up Mt. Nittany and Penn's cave nearby.
This hotel is close to the school, and is the most reasonably priced. The rooms are clean. The halls are also clean. The breakfast bar is reasonable. It seems to be getting more "frayed" around the edges, as signs of age are beginning to appear.

needs a Facelift

Posted Jul 16, 2014
Pros: Close to Penn State
Cons: Needs a facelift
It's time for a facelift. Carpets were old. There was a stale , musty smell in the hallways. You could see where the connection came thru the wall for the ice machine but the ice machine had been removed and you had to go down to the first floor for ice. The air conditioning unit vibrated so badly that I had to wedge something in it so I could sleep. The room was clean and for the most part comfortable it just was an older hotel that needs some TLC.

Very dated

Posted Jul 8, 2014
The hotel was very dated, smelled musty and smokey, and was not very well located. Hotel staff were nice and the hotel felt safe.
