Clean - Small - No Frills

Posted Nov 21, 2014
Pros: Affordable
Cons: Turn the heat on before guests arrive. It took over an hour to heat the room up enouigh we could go to bed.
Location: Good location. lots of restaurants close. IHOP next door.
I got what I paid for. A bed, A shower. Clean towels & beds

I'd rather sleep in my car.

Posted Nov 21, 2014
Pros: Nothing.
Cons: The "breakfast" was pretty bad. They could put more effort into that.
Location: Difficult to find and to get to. Jammed into a space behind an iHop.
This hotel is somewhat old and outdated. There was an unpleasant, chemical smell throughout, as though from a harsh cleaner of some sort. The room furniture was old and worn; the finishes chipped. The sheets were stained, but clean.

Hotel is a little tired, a little old & over priced. But it worked for a football weekend

Clean, quiet, affordable

Posted Oct 11, 2014
Cons: I wish each room came equipped with an iron. Irons had to be requested from the front desk.
It is always a gamble when shopping for a hotel on a budget. I was in State College for a conference at Penn State. Super 8 was the least expensive room in town by far. I did not expect lavish furnishings, mini bar, etc... I just wanted a clean, quiet, inexpensive room...that is exactly what I received. I would stay again.

Decent hotel. Excellent staff!

Pros: Late checkout. And the breakfast room is nice.
Location: We were just passing through.
Our family of five stayed one night and found Super 8 State College to be quite acceptable for the money. The roll-away cot was adequate, and we even found space for out puppy's kennel. The room was clean and simple, very nice for the money. But the quality that stands out most about our stay was the courteous and thoughtful staff. My daughter left an item in one of the rooms. Not only was the front desk patient and helpful, but the housekeeping staff went out of their way to help us retrieve the item and get it sent by mail.

State College Hotel

Posted Oct 6, 2014
Pros: As large a hotel and by a college it was quiet and comfortable.
Location: It was by restaurants and anything we needed.
It was a good rate. Clean room and comfortable. Just what we needed for a short stay. I would recommend it to anyone!! Easy to get into and find.

Good for Overnight Tailgate Stays

Posted Sep 22, 2014
Pros: Clean, quiet and friendly staff along with reasonable rates.
Cons: In-room refrigerator.
We stayed at this hotel for two nights to attend football game. It is basic, but clean with a friendly staff. They had a little tailgate party in the lobby on Friday night with snacks and always have cookies at the front desk. Even though it was a football weekend and many families with children, it was quiet. The breakfast is very limited with only bagels, toast, yogurt, cereal, oatmeal, coffee and juice, but it is enough to get your morning started. There is coffee at all times near the front desk. The only additional amenity that is lacking and would be nice is an in-room refrigerator. There is a microwave available near the front desk.

Great overnight stay! Had everything we needed. Breakfast was good and WiFi worked fine. Had to ask for extra shampoo and conditioner, but besides that everything was great!
