Life in the Basement

Posted Aug 4, 2012 on Hotels.com
The good news -- very quiet room. No fridge, though, and I guess that's something we've come to expect. Problem was, they had apparently been having some water (rain storm?) problems and the hallway (below ground) seemed very damp and smelled musty and moldy. They had a fan going which seemed to be helping a bit. Thankfully, the dampness problem did not extend into the room. I just wondered how someone sensitive to mold would react. As you might expect, the hallway and stairway carpet were not at all pleasant looking.

The front desk people were super curteous and extremely fast in their service. Unbelievable.

Food and Booze a +

Posted Apr 15, 2012
Pros: Can eat and drink right there.
Cons: Hotel could use maintenance
Location: Not far from Penn State campus.
It was great to have the restaurant and bar right there... there was even live music the evening we stayed there.

Autoport

We walked into our room and it smelled like an ash tray. We opened up the windows for two days straight (in the middle of February) and it still was terrible smelling by the time we left. There were stains all over the rug. Very outdated. The sheets were clean along with the towels. However, when we showered the tub flooded in about 30 seconds which made things difficult. The cost was very cheap. I wouldn't stay here again unless there was a much more updated and clean room available.

Don't stay here!!!

Posted Feb 20, 2012
Pros: six packs in the lobby.
Cons: The room, beds, heating, smell, and shower.
Location: Ramada was across the street and We shoud have stayed there.
Room had a funky smell. Two beds three lousy pillows. Shower in the morning was horrible. One second you were burning yourself the next second it was freezing cold. I was not ask when checking out "how was your stay". That was smart because I would have said something but was in a hurry for THON the fund raiser held in State College. Don't stay there. Seriously.
