Pretty grounds behind the hotel. Not far from downtown. Ac unit was a bit loud and blew right on our heads. No way to adjust. The mattresses were nice

Found this hotel to be convenient to Penn State; very clean and comfortable room with all the amenities; easy and fast transport by car to the College for free; very nice staff very helpful for guiding me to good restaurants.

Pros: The restaurant staff were wonderful. They gave me a cup of coffee free of charge to take to my room.
Cons: More amenities.
Location: Very convenient to Penn State.
Had to wait a while to check in as there were only 2 employees working at the front desk when I arrived around 6pm. Everything was just ok, nothing about the place was special or interesting.

Nice, spacious suite

Posted Jun 19, 2014
Pros: We loved the spaciousness of the suite and it was also very quiet. We also liked the Legends bar and restaurant.
Cons: Read above,
Location: There's a van to downtown locations, but we didn't use this. Our son and his family live nearby, so that's why we were in the area.
We really enjoyed staying at the Penn Stater. We were in a suite, and it was nice to spread out. Loved the size of the bathroom as well. The rooms were very nice. My only criticism is that the carpet appeared stained. Otherwise, everything seemed clean. Staff was excellent, but they need to pick up trays with dirty dishes on them left in the hallways on a more regular basis.

Nice quiet hotel

Stayed here for a weekend trip to visit a family member attending grad school at Penn State. Hotel is located on Penn State's extensive campus. Though we did not use it, there's supposedly a shuttle to help you get around. Hotel is clean, and large. When we stayed there it didn't feel like anyone else was there, which was nice and allowed us to really relax and enjoy our trip without being disturbed. Our room was straightforward and adequate for our needs. Wifi was included. No fridge in the room but there's a microwave in the hallway for guests to use. Fitness center and pool were very clean and I had a great workout there. The facilities are clean but hotel definitely has an older layout and feel to it. It wasn't bad, but it's something the younger crowd may not enjoy per se.

This is a very convenient hotel for your stay (or Conference) in State College if you are indifferent to location. If you need a hotel within walking distance from central campus or downtown try different location.

Very comfortable

Posted Jun 1, 2014
Pros: Classy, clean and comfortable
Cons: they could be more sensitive to the special needs of guests, such as those who may be older or who have disabilities.
Location: close enough to restaurants and shopping
Though I requested an "easy access" room, we were put on the fifth floor, far from the conference area where the event was taking place we were there to attend. This meant a long walk for me and my husband. He has emphysema and I have arthritis, and the we could have done without the long walk in uncomfortable dress shoes.

Nice hotel with very friendly and welcoming staff.

Pros: I liked the area, the rooms, the food, very helpful staff.
Cons: I do not have any recommendations for improvements.
Location: I was at a conference in the hotel so didn't go many places.
The rooms were spacious and clean. The workout facility was more than most hotels. The food was fantastic!
