Functional

Posted Jul 19, 2015
Pros: Good location for anything Penn State
Cons: Decoration and bed overhaul
Location: Anything related to Penn State
This was an ok hotel. Nothing special but nothing negative. It was built for function. The rooms are decent. Beds are a bit old. Bathrooms are small but usable. Tubs are narrow and water pressure is nothing to write home about. Front desk staff was extremely nice and helpful with the exception of the gentleman that was on at 4 am when we wanted to check out and who preferred his telephone conversation over guest service. Just had to leave the keys and go without a bill

Nice Facilities Close To PSU

Posted Jul 17, 2015
Pros: Pub, proximity to PSU, flexible shuttle service.
Cons: Some updating of the rooms
Location: Close to PSU
Stayed two nights, as my daughter was attending Penn State New Student Orientation. Location is very good, and the shuttle service to/from PSU was excellent and very flexible. The overall facility is nice, with a good restaurant and pub. Staff were all friendly and helpful. Room was clean and met our needs just fine. While the overall quality of the facility was good, it is starting to look a bit dated in some ways. Still, the overall value was very good, and I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.

Good value for the money.

I appreciated an inexpensive place to stay for a quick stop over, but would gladly pay a bit more for new carpeting in the guest rooms and better linens. That said, the restaurants were good and the front desk staff were very pleasant and accommodating.

Lovely hotel near PSU campus

Posted Jun 25, 2015
Pros: The bed was very comfortable, the room was very clean and the complimentary wifi was very easy to access.
Cons: The one thing that I would have liked to have known in advance is that the toilet sits very low which proved difficult for me.
Location: We were there for PSU freshman orientation and our activities were limited to the campus. www.psu.edu for more information
We stayed one night at this hotel and everything was very nice and there were no problems at all. We did not have the opportunity to visit the hotel restaurants, the fitness center or the pool but they were well appointed. The whirlpool was not filled at the time that we checked it out but I do not know how temporary that was since we were only looking and did not stay long. There are complimentary USA Today newspapers in the lobby; they are not delivered to the rooms. Checking out using the television is not an option like many other hotels, but they did have a key drop box in the lobby.

Beautiful grounds and lobby but room needed update

Posted May 9, 2015
Pros: Setting, main areas and lap pool.
Cons: Update rooms with new furniture.
Location: Can't really comment as I did not get off the hotel grounds.
Lovely area and ambience, but it was a little off the beaten path. It probably would have been easy to venture out, but after driving all day, I was not up for it. The room: bed was very comfortable however there was a love seat that I honestly did not want to sit on. I did love that there is a lap pool there...that alone would bring me back despite some of the drawbacks.

Good Time

Posted May 4, 2015
Pros: Everything, except room temp.
Cons: Temperature adjustment in the room.
Location: We went to see Garth Brooks at the Bryce Jordan Center.
Everything was great except the room was to hot and we everything we did to the thermostat didn't seem to help.

Perfect for Bryce Jordan Center Event

Posted May 1, 2015
Pros: Everything
Location: We had no trouble finding many restaurants close by.
We stayed for a concert at the Bryce Jordan Center and the hotel had a bus take us to and from the concert which was wonderful since we were not familiar with the area. The driver got us there and back with no long traffic waits. The hotel was very nice and clean, staff was very pleasant. Would stay again and again!
