Lovely setting

Nice facility but Unusual floor plan. Missing a few conveniences like a mini fridge and towel racks. No coffee in lobby after 9:45a.m. Food in the restaurant was very good but we had to wait for bar tender to find a waitress because nobody was in the restaurant at 5pm.

Great location, really liked the new steakhouse on the property. The resort needs to update and upgrade carpeting.

Nice Location

Posted Jan 16, 2015
Pros: Great breakfast and the waiter was very professional.
Staff was very helpful, the location was surrounded by trees and very private. The only downside was the static electricity, I was constantly getting shock and my night gown clung to me.

Great place to stay while in State College

Posted Jan 5, 2015
Pros: Down Under Steak House
Location: Edge of State College, short drive to downtown.
The hotel was nearly empty when we stayed there, but it was nice. The staff was friendly, the room was comfortable and clean, and the location was convenient. We ate dinner at one of the hotel's restaurants (the Down Under Steak House) and the food was amazing (the service was great too), best restaurant dinner I've had in years. I highly recommend it.

Great location for the Penn State Football Game

Posted Dec 1, 2014
Pros: We liked this hotel because it was close to Beaver Stadium.
Cons: The hotel seemed dated. It cloud use some remodeling.
We had heard about the resort and were glad that we could get reservations since we were going to the Penn State Football game and it was scheduled later in the day. The staff was helpful and our room was ready before the 4:00 check-in time. We had a problem with the thermostat and mentioned it to the front desk as we were leaving for the game. The problem was corrected by the time we returned that evening. We had dinner that evening and it was very good. The breakfast was included in our stay and was just okay for being free. I would have complained if I had to pay for it.

We are....Penn State

Wasn't thrilled about the continental breakfast. Was still stay there, was a reasonable price on a holiday weekend and a football game weekend for penn state.

Inexpensive, last minute hotel

Fabulous hotel, cheap and rooms were still available even a week before the Penn state Michigan state game! Had a great time with a complimentary breakfast and restaurant right next door.

Have never had a bad stay at Toftrees

Posted Nov 23, 2014
While it is true Toftrees isn't among the newer hotels in the State College area, the staff is always incredibly friendly and helpful and the rooms are always clean. Price is very reasonable, especially when compared to others in the area. Sunday's complimentary breakfast buffet is fantastic.
