Rest for the Weary

Posted Nov 1, 2014
After a full day of riding the Harley, arrived at the hotel and was greeted by pleasant staff and the smell of the free freshly popped popcorn in the lobby. Check in went quickly. Non smoking room was clean and in good repair, no issues. Had a breakfast available but slept in so didn't get to check it out, but there is a Waffle House which shares the same parking lot. Check out also went quickly. Hotel is right off highway, but road noise was not an issue, and the grounds are nice but have a commercial feel rather than residential.

Great customer service

After having checked out of another local hotel that was just plain nasty (and I didn't stay) - it was a treat to find another local hotel that had rooms and was wonderful in getting me a reservation over the phone. I entered the hotel to find fresh popcorn and happy staff. Each day the staff greeted me and asked about my day. Rooms were wonderfully clean and up-to-date. Area restaurants are just around the corner. The hotel is is situated not too far from the historic district. Parking is a bit confusing as they share the parking lot with a little restaurant. Majority of people that stay there seems to be those working in the area - so a variety of vehicles are in the parking area - but EVERYONE was respectful of parking and were very kind. So, if looking for a hotel that is clean, have great staff and reasonable rates - stay here!

Did not feel safe

Posted Jul 5, 2014 on Hotels.com
The side door that we used, which was not easily visible was a key door. The problem is that every time we went in or out someone had placed a small rock in the door so it did not latch. It was not noticeable until you got to the door and it was not closed. We went to the front desk 3 times advising them of the problem, but the next time we used the door the same thing again with a rock in the door. Weather this was an innocent reason, it made me think that anyone who needed to use that door would have a key card and anyone who did not did not have a key card did not need unlimited access the entire hotel.

Thank you for caring enough to share your feedback with us. We take all guest concerns and feedback very seriously and we very much appreciate you bringing this situation to our attention. Upon hearing about the issue, our General Manager began monitoring the door in an effort to identify the guests responsible. I am happy to report that the problem has been resolved although we continue to monitor the door to ensure the issue does not recur. Again, thank you for bringing this situation to our attention – our guests’ safety is out top priority. While we certainly understand that feeling safe is a big factor to enjoying your stay at a hotel, we hope that other aspects of your stay were enjoyable. We look forward to welcoming you back should your travels permit a return visit.

Did not feel safe.

The door closest to our room was on one end and was in a inside corner. Your key card was required to open the door. Three (3) times we found the door with a small rock holding the door so it would not latch, It was not visible until got up to the door. We took the rock out and told the front desk each time and nothing was ever done (to our knowledge) because every time we used the door there would be another small rock in the door. I did not feel safe, anyone who needed to use that door should have a key card and if they did not have a key card they did not need to be roaming the halls.
