“Better than expected”

A friend and I need a hotel for the night after a wedding, we didn't need anything to fancy just a place to rest our heads after a long day of making people pretty....some of the other review scared me, but we gave it a try anyway. We arrived a couple of hours early and the front desk allowed us to get our keys then so we wouldn't have to worry about it later. When did go to the room, we were pleasently surprised. Clearly upgrades had been done a nice fresh coat of paint, newer linens, clean room and a very comfy bed. I have to say that this place certainly was better than expected...

“Older, but clean comfortable and quiet.”

Hotel was older, but clean, comfortable and quiet. Breakfast was adequate with the usual cereal, U-cook waffles and fruit. It got the job done. Free WiFi with an easy connection. At this price point, I don't need or expect any more. I'd certainly hole up here again for the night or a business trip.

“It was Okay...doubt I would stay there again”

Our biggest problem was that when we got there the clerk said that we had a smoking room. Since neither of us smoke we were NOT happy about it. We asked if we could change it and they said no. Therefore the room had a slight smoke smell although I admit the smell was't as bad as it could have been. The hallway did realy smell like smoke. Otherwise, the hotel was just old, but seeemed basically clean.

“Was OK, but very dated”

Stayed here as a stop after traveling Skyline Drive. The hotel looks like it was very nice around 20 years ago. A recent slap of paint, and some poorly installed curved shower curtains and ta da... you get a Quality Inn. While breakfast was free, and therefore, was better than nothing, it left a lot to be desired. We were in the 'inner hallway' portion of the hotel, where the outer doors would not lock, and the hallway smelled of smoke. The room was clean, but it was really hot (and musty) until the air conditioner was kicked on. I am all for saving power, but you could at least keep the a/c on at, say, 80, when the room will be occupied that night. We walked in and instantly started to sweat. nice welcome. The hotels by I-64 looked nicer, but, then again, I didn't get inside of those hotels.

“Wouldn't go back”

Rate was reasonable. Room seemed almost clean. Bathroom was cramped. For the rate charged, one cannot expect sumptuousness but the room should easily meet minimum standards of cleanliness and appointments.

“It sucks!”

We were given a smoking room although we had requested a non-smoking room. It was in a separate building on the 2nd floor without elevator, and the general appearance of the property was depressing.

“Hotel not worth the trip.”

This inn has not kept up with maintenance and the condition of the property shows the neglect.
