“Great Place in Steamboat Springs”

We were very impressed with the 1 bedroom condo we had at The Lodge. It was very clean and well maintained. The bedroom, living room, and kitchen had very tasteful decorations. The kitchen was very well supplied with everything we needed. My only complaint is that the room did not get serviced everyday. So towels and garbage we up to us to service.

“Very average”

Condo was definitely built in the 70s. Doen't look like alot was done to it since. It was very clean and roomy, but needed updating. We were with skiing with friends that had another condo in the same complex and theirs had been updated with granite, slate, etc. Our condo had mismatched appliances, vinyl floors, formica countertops and a mirror coming off the wall in the bathroom. It was clean and okay, but nothing special. Fairly close to slopes.

Area recommendations
We have skiied in multiple areas in the past 10 years. In our opinion, Steamboat is not for beginners. Very few green runs compared to Park City, Deer Valley, Breckenridge, Canyons, Snow Mass and Crest Butte. These greens very crowded and very narrow.
Nightlife
There is no nightlife in Steamboat. Things close up fairly early.

“Great stay in Steamboat”

The staff at the lodge was very professional and knowledgeable. The condo was very accommodating and the entire lodge was very clean. We cant wait to come back.

Area recommendations
The lodge was located by the gondola which worked out nicely for us.
Getting around
Getting around is very easy due to the shuttles everywhere. No reason to drive yourself. They are helpful and on time.

“Great place near the Base”

We had a very nice stay at the Lodge. All the staff, from the front desk personnel to bell boy were very friendly, courteous and helpful. Our one bedroom unit had recently been remodeld and was very comfortable. The only thing that would have made it better was to have the second bathroom unlocked for when we had friends visit for dinner. The location was great....just a short walk to the Gondola. Shuttle service was very convenient and easy to use.

Area recommendations
Love Steamboat...staying near the Base is great.
Dining
Try the "Truffle Pig"and The Oar House for excellent food

“Great location to lifts. Cozy rooms and great service.”

We had 18 people in 4 different apts. and we were all happy with the rooms and the service. The skiers in our party got the shuttle to the gondola but then were able to ski almost all the way back to our building. Pool was outdoor only so we did not use but that was the only disappointment. We also had one elderly person and navigating all the up and down stairways was a challenge; there was no elevator. We would happily go back again.

“Highly recommended”

We were pleasantly pleased with our stay at the Lodge. Close to the mountain-about a 5 minute jaunt. With gear you would want to take the shuttle bus which loops all day every 10 minutes. Super close walk to local market store with delicious fresh foods, sandwiches, locals brews and anything you could need. The hotel staff were pleasant and always helpful and friendly. The condo was clean, spacious and felt very comfortable with a great kitchen, large master and cubbies for skis and outside lockers. Shuttle bus into town with super friendly drivers that cater to those visiting. Awesome restaurants all local. The greatest family weekend for us and our kids!! Going back next year!

“Good size and location”

The place was a good size for the price - lots of space. The strange thing is the one bathroom was in the master bedroom. It was impossible for one person to use the bath without waking others. Bad configuration that would be hard for them to fix at this point. Bathroom could use updating. Fixtures and carpet were a bit dated in our unit, but my wife said looking in other units they had newer furniture, carpet and fixtures. If you have lots of luggage ask to stay on the first floor since it is all stairs and a bit of a maze. They stragely don't use some of the parking directly in front of units b/c its reserved for snow storage. People were very nice and the shuttle service is the tops. The shuttle drivers were very friendly and my 5 year old knew the drive on a first name basis. Overall, given the price and location this is a good pick in Steamboat. Most other places were very large and expensive.

Traveler's tip
Steamboat is a great town with excellent food. Try either Creekside or Winona's for a great breakfast. At night try Giovannis for good food and friendly service. Old Town pub has a local feel and acceptable food. 8th Street Steakhouse wanted you to cook your own meat and destroyed a great prime rib with an over use of rosemary, so I wouldn't personally go back. We have a 5 year old and all these places were okay for kids.
