Other winter activities include cross-country skiing, night-time ski jumping and snow tubing, snowmobile tours, ice climbing, sleigh rides, dogsledding, snowshoeing, ice fishing, biplane rides, and glider rides.

The Steamboat Grand is located in Steamboat Springs Village, across the street from Mt. Werner and 120 yards from Gondola Square. Steamboat's Mt. Werner has a summit elevation of 10,568 feet. The resort has a 3,668-foot vertical drop and 2,939 skiable acres with 142 trails: 13 percent beginner, 56 percent intermediate, and 31 percent advanced. These are accessible by 25 lifts, including a gondola and four high-speed quads.

The average snowfall is 337 inches (in January, an average of 95 inches is champagne powder) thanks to the resort's location on the windward side of the Park Range, right before the Continental Divide.
