We stayed in 2 bed, 2 bath in Aug. It was beautiful villa with tons of space for everyone. Right at base of gondola. In summer, a lot of restaurants closed at base of mountain & drove downtown for places to eat.

This was the first time my family had visited Colorado and seen snow! We couldn't of picked a better location or hotel. This town is so family friendly. The positive of going out early in December is season hasn't hit yet and it's not that crowded. We signed up for group lessons to learn to ski and my son took snowboarding lessons. There was 4 people in the ski group and my son was the only person receiving snowboarding lessons for his age group. The negative is sleigh rides and tubing aren't available until after December 13. If you want to learn to ski or snowboard I would encourage you to go early in the season.
