Overheated roomPosted Aug 11, 2013 on Hotels.com
Location was good, breakfast buffet also good. However, had difficulty sleeping because the room was just too hot. The weather was pleasant outside but could not leave window open as the traffic would have disturbed us, so no air from outside to cool us down and the heat inside was excessive and prevented us from getting proper nights sleep any of the4 nights we were there.

Our stay at Crystal Plaza HotelPosted Aug 9, 2013
Location: The hotel is located near metro and bus stops and restaurants and shopping.
We loved the buffet breakfast that was offered with your stay. Plenty of variety of foods to offer such as crepes, scrambled eggs, different kinds of breads, hot or cold cereals, fresh fruit, sausage, bacon, tea, milk, juice and even asian food. Our room was small but adequate. We were there on july 26-28 and right now northern europe is having a heat wave. We really missed air conditioning at night. A ceiling fan or a fan of some sort would of helped. You can open the windows but europeans do not use screens and I do not want any mosquitos or varments to get into my room while I am sleeping so the windows went shut at night. They also offer a heated towel rod in the bathroom which helped dry some clothes that we had to wash out. The shower was spacious but the shower head would not stay on the holder so we had to hold it while showering which made it hard to shower. These items were left on the survey we filled out so maybe some of these items will be addressed for future users to that room. The hotel is located near metro and bus stops. We chose this hotel because you could push your luggage to the bus stop that stops at Frihamen cruise terminal. The bus drivers are very helpful. Overall the staff were very curtious, helpful, pleasant, and accommodating. We would definately stay here again.

Pleasant hotel, good locationPosted Aug 6, 2013
Pros: The room was comfortable and the breakfast buffet was good, with occasional addition of some Chinese specialties.
This is a classic older hotel with a nice atmosphere, located within easy walking distance of many points of interest.

Pros: Clean and reasonably comfortable room
Cons: Walk from the station
Location: Nice but a good walk from the main train station
Bit of a walk from the main station, I'd say 10-15mins easily - clean room, friendly helpful staff and nice breakfast.

The best hotel we've tried in Scandinavia!Posted Jul 8, 2013
Pros: Friendly staff and location
Cons: Nothing we can think of
Location: Close to a Metro stop and right in the middle of the city centre. Use the public transit system and you can be anywhere in Stockholm in minutes!
I really can't add a lot that I haven't said in my previous reviews of this hotel. It's all good! If we had to pick a single thing to comment on, we would have to say the friendly attitude and helpfulness of the staff. Have stayed here 2-3 times a year for the past several years. We wouldn't consider another hotel in Stockholm. We travel a lot throughout Scandinavia, and the Crystal Plaza is like home to us.

We wouldn't stay anywhere else in Stockholm!Posted Jun 26, 2013
Pros: Friendliness of the staff and the great location
Cons: Relatively slow Internet
Location: Ideal, near the city centre and 5 minutes from the Östermalmstorg metro station
We have stayed at this hotel several times over the past 2-3 three years. We have tried other hotels in Stockholm, but we keep coming back to the Crystal Palace. It is located in the Östermalm district in central Stockholm, close to the central public transportation stations (Metro, bus, commuter trains and the main SL train) and a short walk from a Metro stop. The staff are one of the best group we've encountered in Europe, and we travel a lot. Nothing is too much to ask, and they go the extra mile and then some to ensure guests are happy. We've always booked rooms that include the free breakfast, and it is very good. The rooms are comfortable and large by European standards. Whenever possible, we've been offered free upgrades. We use Stockholm as a "home away from home" when visiting other places in Europe, often staying a week or so at this hotel before and after trips elsewhere. The only thing we would like to see improved is the WiFi Internet speed . . . this is nit-picking as it is currently 1 MB/sec upload and download, which is plenty for routine browsing and email. However, we have stayed in several hotels in Scandinavia where the speed is up to 10 times faster. If you are just checking email, etc., this is not really an issue. This hotel is highly recommend by us. Would we go back again? Yes! We have already booked a return visit this summer.
