A Little Gem of a HotelPosted Oct 18, 2013 on Hotels.com
Wonderful service, superb location, excellent breakfast. Because it is just a little way off a main street, very quiet. And all at very reasonable rates: would definitely stay there again.

Great location in a beautiful city!Posted Oct 7, 2013 on Hotels.com
Hotel Riddergatan was in a great location within walking distance to all of the sights in downtown Stockholm, including Gamla Stan, SoFo, and Djurgarden. There's also plenty happening in the surrounding areas of Ostermalm and Normalm. The included buffet breakfast is great since Stockholm is super expensive (we're talking $6-$8 cups of DRIP at cafes). Our room was large, clean, and comfortable. My only minor complaint was the shower, which was the type that gets much of the bathroom floor wet. Also, it was a little loud on the street at night (street-facing room), with people stumbling home from local bars. This is not the hotel's fault though, and it's just a minor inconvenience given the awesome location.

Everything was fine. I had a small room, but it was designed to be very functional. The bed wasn't great - felt a little bit like I was sleeping on the sofa, but I was generally so tired after running around all day it didn't matter. The breakfast was amazing. The wireless worked, but wasn't top notch. People at desk were friendly and helpful. Close to everything. Great places to eat near buy and the subway is a five minute walk.

Style before substance?Posted Sep 24, 2013
Pros: Friendly, helpful day and night staff, comfy rooms (except for glass wall nonsense and lighting) and excellent breakfast buffet.
Cons: Making the bathrooms more private. More storage.
Location: Fantastic location in Ostermalm, v close to public transport, easy walk to Gamla Stan. V close to some great restaurants and bars.
We really enjoyed our stay in this beautiful city. The Hotel Riddargatan is generally lovely. We were lucky enough to be upgraded on arrival, and 8 of us stayed in two suites and two twin rooms. I stayed in a large, comfortable twin room overlooking the road - big, beautiful windows. I didn't notice any noise from outside, and the hotel is solidly built. The twin beds were very comfortable, there was a safe, free bottled water, toiletries in the bathroom etc. The rooms were spotlessly clean. We had one big and several minor niggles with the rooms. Three of us were on the third floor, which had clearly been recently refurbished. The problem was the en suite bathrooms' glass walls - we visited Stockholm for my birthday, and we were 8 friends, no couples - so we definitely did not want to watch each other showering and using the toilet!! My room had a gauzy curtain that could be pulled across the door but was translucent when we had the bathroom light on, the bridal suite bathroom had two glass walls. We got some tape and covered the glass wall with newspaper and maps! Another minor niggle was the over-complicated lighting system - four buttons produced different lighting configurations, but it was a nuisance trying to turn all the lights off to go to bed. There wasn't enough hanging space or drawer space, so we had stuff everywhere. We thought storage should have been prioritised over the dumbbells that were attached to the wall.

Great location, but no A/C.Posted Aug 3, 2013
Pros: Location Breakfast Staff friendliness
Cons: No A/C Bad stroller access
Location: Ideal for Stockholm.
- The location is ideal for Stockholm, especially for $175/night. - You must climb stairs to access the hotel and then the elevator; not convenient with a stroller. - The breakfast was terrific. - There is no air conditioning. - The wall between the room and the bathroom is made of glass, so you will get to know any roommates very intimately. - There is no ice machine, but you can get some ice from the front desk staff one small bucket at a time. - The front desk staff is very helpful.
