Perfect hotel retreat

Posted Jan 26, 2014
Pros: All of it....location, staff, food, comfort, convenience, tranquil, beautiful views, etc.
Cons: Nothing at all.
Location: This is only a three minute walk over the bridge to the city proper. Tons of museums and cultural things to do. This is a walking city.
Hotel Skeppsholmen will see us again. This hotel was one of the best experiences we've had...the staff, the restaurant, the location, the room, etc. all were stellar.

Excellent hotel innpeacefulmand attractive locclos

Posted Oct 19, 2013
Pros: Appealing and very clean. Central location
Cons: Provide usual basin in bathroom rather impractical, but stylish, "water running over stone" arrangement.
Location: The old town (Gamla Stan), several museums and tourist bus/boat trips within 10 mins, particularly the Vasa ship museum.
Plenty to do in Stockholm made easy by hotel location. 10 minute walk along the shoreline into Stockholm centre, also local bus was very convenient. Lovely restaurant, if a touch expensive, but would go back time and again, whenever the season.

Comfortable and relaxing setting...

Posted Sep 8, 2013
Pros: Location
Cons: Indoor bar area
This boutique hotel is away from the city center and is unique in a big city. The former naval military barracks offer an outdoor setting on Skeppsholmen close to the city but with outdoor gardens, beverages and dining. The room is fairly stark yet comfortable and relaxing. Ask for a room on the second floor, away from the quiet street which passes on one side. The dining room and outside bar are both good - the food was above average for dinner and the extensive continental breakfast was one of the best I have experienced in this type of setting. The ferries are 3 minutes away and offer flexibility and another way of travel. Taxis are available through the front desk but you really can walk most places in city center.

relaxing hotel

Pros: The location
Cons: The gym was much t small and the bathrooms need to be changed the sink was difficult and the toilet should be where the shower is.
Location: It's a great location and near shops and museums
You can't believe you are in a city as the hotel is so quiet but only a short stroll to everything.

City hotel set on an island.

Posted Sep 2, 2013
Pros: Staff very good. Location excellent. Good value for Stockholm which is a very expensive city.
Cons: Rooms are very small. Modern design makes rooms feel slightly unwelcoming.
Location: Only 10 minutes walk from city centre. Easy to get boat to nearby islands - take the hop on hop off rather than the normal ferries as they are cheaper
Location is excellent, set on an island only 10 minutes walk from the City. Beautiful situation. Staff very helpful and friendly. Breakfast very good. Evening menu is quite limited. Rooms are very modern design and quite small. Basin has stone in the middle - wonderful at first but then realise that there is no plug and it can not be used to wash anything! Good value for Stockholm.

An oasis of comfort and pleasure

Posted Jul 27, 2013
Pros: Modern decor, tranquility, restaurant, location
Cons: Bathroom washbasin, fairly small bed
Location: Ideal
This hotel is a pleasure to visit, on a pleasant little island, an oasis of tranquility set apart from the city, but near enough to walk into if you get fed up of the super efficient bus! We ate in the hotel restaurant always for the excellent breakfast and twice for the evening meal. All in all we would strongly recommend this hotel, apart from the quirky bathroom wash basins! These look lovely but are pretty useless. However the answer is to make more use of the fantastic shower.
