Best Hotel I have ever been

Posted Sep 11, 2014
Pros: Everything
Cons: Nothing
Location: It is located in the old town near to many restaurants, cafés and shops.
If you like modern hotels with lots of lights and mirrors, this is not the Hotel you will like. However, if you like small hotels with an old style, then you are in the right place. The Hotel is fantastic. Plenty of personality with lots of models of boats and antiques. The Hotel Staff is super friendly. All the areas on the entrance level are so beautiful that you wish to stay longer. Breakfast is very good. It is a pity I had to leave Stockholm. In case I return to Stokholm..this is the Hotel where I will stay again. No doubt on that!!!!!

Three excellent restaurants.

Pros: A museum of antiques from the time of Lord Nelson.
Location: Near other fine restaurants and most tourist sites.
Perfect choice for a Stockholm vacation for couples and singles.

Excellent Location

Posted Aug 24, 2014
Pros: Location, location, location! Quirky décor. When they say "collectors" they mean collections of objects. This time, naval theme.
Cons: Climate control in rooms. At night our room was quite warm, but it's too noisy in Gamla Stan to open the windows.
Location: Right down in Gamla Stan. You can walk to most everything in Stockholm from this hotel.
As location went, we couldn't have asked for more. It was perfect. Since location is by far the most important thing to us, we would stay again, even though our room was tiny.

good location, friendly , nice staff

Posted Aug 13, 2014
Pros: no fuss or bother , it is a very good comfortable place to stay
Cons: the bar on the roof terrace was very busy , advertised externally and i was not able to get a seat. I think the hotel bar itself is a bit too small
Location: Easy reach of the city , shops , and the more bohemian quarter too, all within 20 minute walk.
a centrally located hotel in the old city staff were helpful and friendly a relaxed atmosphere , good breakfast , easy access to all parts of town by foot

Beautiful hotel in great location

Posted Jun 17, 2014 on Hotels.com
eclectic historic décor, great hotel bar, unusual restaurant (offers only one type of meat per night), located in old town walking district, they arranged a nice and portable breakfast for our very early departure to airport and a lovely taxi tour the day before. Not for those who like large impersonal hotels, it was more like a classic, fancy, b&b.

great location/unique ambiance

In Gamla Stan the old city which is great for roaming around and a base to start exploring Stockholm - albeit a bit touristy and prices reflect that. The area is a must stop and good for a day including base to take a boat trip around Stockholm harbor. Just metro/subway stop from Central Station, Gamla Stan stn is less than 5 mins walk to the hotel. With its nautical theme, the hotel offers a unique ambiance with model ships and nautical memorabilia throughout. Front desk staff was very friendly and helpful with tips and other travel needs. Room was comfy, quiet, and well appointed. Breakfast was nice selection. I recommend and would stay again

You are paying for the location

Our room was adequate but not what I expected for over $400 per night. Great location and nice breakfast, but small room.
