Gorgeous setting, cheerful friendly and helpful staff. Great food, well equipped rooms, tasteful decor. Really can't fault it and I'm difficult to please. Only small disappointment was that WiFi didn't work in my room, but did in public areas.

A quiet place in the countryPosted Aug 27, 2013
Pros: The rooms, staff, location
Cons: The cost as it was a bit pricey.
We recently stayed here after a wedding in the local village, check in went smoothly and we were shown to our room, As the door opened I was pleasantly surprised at the room as it was so spacious and looked welcoming, It was bright and airy with high beams on the ceiling giving it a country feel. We had a en-suite which was bigger than our bathroom at home and had a full size bath and overhead shower. The bed was high and extremely comfortable to say the least. In the morning we went down for breakfast and there was a vast choice of what you could have from cereals, toast, eggs done in various ways, breakfast sandwiches, to a full Northumbrian breakfast which is what we ordered accompanied with fresh coffee. The scenery from our room was spectacular, the service was second to none. The staff were very friendly and chatted about why we were staying etc. making us feel very at home. I would recommend this hotel to all of my friends and will be returning to try out the restaurant on an evening.

Great findPosted Jul 3, 2013 on Hotels.com
Excellent. Situated in a small and pleasant village, recently tastefully refurbished to a very high standard. Bedroom very comfortable and lovely view across the Tyne valley. Staff very firendly, and excellent service. Huge breakfasts, and excellent food in the restaurant in the evening. Only complaint - a little noisy when a function was on on our first night, but it did not go on late. Otherwise great, and I hope we can go again.

Stay overnight as was at a family do. Service is excellent food is superb can't fault it in anyway. Location of the hotel is fab, has great view, and it's not difficult to get to. Rooms are clean, light and very airy. Would highly recommend this hotel to anyone wanting a stay in that area in fact have already done so with a few people.
