RELAX AND REMEMBER THE EIGHTIESPosted Apr 22, 2014
The decor is very much eighties style which is not everyone's. But we had a good time here. It's quiet, close to the forests and the staff were friendly. Also it has a very decent fitness centre with pool and three saunas. Maybe we were lucky as there weren't that many other guests around but we had a really relaxing time and would seriously consider going there again to chill out.

Very helpful and friendly staff and homely hotelPosted Apr 12, 2014
The staff were the best and they made all the difference. They habitually go out of their way to make the visitors comfortable. Very scenic hotel with a lots of facilities. The rooms themselves are basic, can do with a microwave, tea, coffee, kettle, etc.

A well kept naturist secret hotelPosted Dec 14, 2013 on Hotels.com
We had a lovely time at the Hotel zum Walde making good use of the naturist facilities. It was very quiet, with only a few staying mid-week, but there was a good mix of people. We were offered an upgrade to the revamped rooms, but found that the room we booked was excellent. The main sauna was very hot, but the infrared sauna was a pleasant surprise. The pool was lovely and it was great to take advantage of eating "au-natural" each night by the pool. The food was good and portions plentiful. The owners and staff were very friendly and helpful, attentive but not intrusive and we would certainly visit again and thoroughly recommend it for a naturist break.

Dated hotelPosted Dec 9, 2013 on Hotels.com
The hotel was ok but very old we had a 70 style bathroom complete with wobbly toilet. No working tv for one day,Ordered starters and main meals for 4 in the bar and was given mains first ! Then was asked to move car as we were trying to get a 2 year old baby from the car while pouring with rain. A very unfriendly man! All in all I would not use again

A bit qwerkyPosted Jan 18, 2013 on Hotels.com
Nice quiet location. Room was quite small and very dated, especially the bathroom which comes out of the 70's. Would never class this as 4 star as the room facilities didn't have any of the features that you'd expect. The bar was very much a talking point as we've never seen anything remotely like it before.

Dear guest, thank you very much for your visit and your remarks. Unfortunately, you booked one of the Economy Double rooms that we explicitly sell as a 3-star-room, as they still have the old bathrooms and are smaller than the Standard rooms. If you liked the design of our new bar, I'm sure that you will also like the style of the freshly renovated bathrooms in those Standard rooms, as they are also something you don't see very often, with pebbled walls and rain shower, small but very very nice! We would be very pleased to welcome you again, I'm sure you would be happy with those rooms!

we had a great stay here and the staff were absolutely lovely. Zweifall is a good base for walkers and the spa facilities are open all hours.

Great hotel to explore the areaPosted Oct 4, 2012
Stayed at Hotel zum Walde on a recent trip to Germany and Belgium. We stayed in one of the apartments. Having a kitchenette was very nice for coffee in the morning and a small dinner in the evening. We ate at the hotel restaurant one evening. The food and service were good. All of the staff were friendly and helpful. The apartment was clean but it is on its way to being dated. We didn't like the beds connected but I think this is the only option. They can't be pushed apart. We put one mattress on the floor for sleeping privacy. The small towns in the area were fun to visit. The Eifel National Park is very pretty. This is a good hotel choice for exploring the area.

My self-catering suite would have been ideal for a longer stay than one night, and I'd recommend it to anyone wanting to explore the area with lovely wooded countryside at hand. The restaurant was somewhat disappointing though, but there is another one across the courtyard -- and of course self-catering would make it unnecessary.
