Pros: freindly staff, a very nice breakfast
Location: they have a nice eating place, but there are other options to go eat at close by.
the people at the front desk were helpful and friendly. We didn't recieve any channels on our tv other than local. The help we recieved was great trying to fix the problem. When the problem couldn't be fixed we recieved a discount on our bill.

Seeking Refuge

Posted Jun 14, 2013
Pros: The hotel was neat and clean and the staff was very friendly. There is a restaurant in the hotel as well as a couple other options nearby.
Location: Gausthouse Bar and Grill is apparently locally well known for their Wholly Pig pork tenderloin sandwich. It was good and the place has a relaxed atm
My wife and I came to Storm Lake, IA to run the Marathon to Marathon and had reservations at a hotel in Storm Lake. I had never been to Storm Lake and am not from the area so I didn’t have any idea what was available but we were only going to be coming in basically to sleep overnight and would be checking out around 5 the next morning so I didn’t reserve a room at one of the more expensive hotels. When we got there the hotel was a complete rat hole and the room smelled horribly, like a mixture of stale smoke, mildew and cat urine that had been covered over by a can full of off brand Lysol. I immediately started looking for somewhere else to stay but nothing was available in Storm Lake because of the marathon, however Best Western had rooms available in Cherokee, IA and I didn’t know anything about Cherokee but I figured it had to be better than the dump where we had reservations so it was a pretty easy choice to drive the 20 minutes to Cherokee and stay there for the night. I am very glad we did. In fact, I would stay here again if I were coming back to the area even if I had an abundance of other choices.

great accessibility for special needs!

Posted Jul 15, 2012
Pros: Room that met our needs, free drinks, and very good complimentary breakfast!
Cons: Air conditioner was a bit loud.
Location: Being close to a major intersection made it easy to find.
After booking through Expedia, I called the site to express our need for both a disabled-accessible and dog-friendly room. Rhonda took care of our needs perfectly!

Wedding Trip

Posted May 6, 2012
Pros: Location
Cons: Driveway and parking area need to be repaired.
Great service, very clean, nice pool and hot tub area, top-notch breakfast buffet. The breakfast alone will save you a minimum of $20 if you have a family. Great location -- there is a 24-hour grocery store across the highway, a great Mexican restaurant right next door, McDonald's within walking distance, K Mart within walking distance.

The BEST!

Posted Apr 10, 2012
Pros: Breakfast, quiet room.
Cons: Location of the pool, in the center arena where all inside windows overlook the pool.
Location: Very convenient for my needs. Easy to get in and out, gas stations near there. The major roads were right up the street.
From check in to check out an overall great experience. Clean, quiet rooms. Front check in area had a computer to use for online requirements, I knew that ahead of time so I did not have to bring a laptop. The breakfast in this place is the best.
