Perfect location for Canopy Tours

Posted Apr 21, 2014
Pros: Location, quirky mix of architectural styles, very relaxed atmosphere
Cons: Pool area is a bit tired but OK. A UK rugby club (teenagers) made it very noisy - lots of very underage drinking encouraged by the chaperones.
Location: Perfect location for all of the Tsitsikamma activities.
We only had one night in Storms River and wanted to be close to the Canopy Tour which we were doing the next morning - we only had to walk next door. A nice quirky place with a great diner, lovely pub and a lovely breakfast on the veranda.

Attractive hotel with lots to do in the area

Posted Dec 30, 2013
A hotel that looks a bit like a set from a cowboy film. Quirky but attractive. Friendly staff, large rooms and good value. Food was not exceptional but ok and possibly best in the area. Lots to do around the Tsitsikama Reserve and this hotel provides a good base.

Impressive site with good views and access to park

Posted Sep 23, 2013
Pros: Pretty much everything!
Cons: Good question.
Location: Close to several national parks good for birds, hiking and plants. (Easy walking distance to Sanparks office and the start of several forest walks.)
The friendly and efficient staff along with good food and a 5* ambience made us wish we had stayed longer. The room was spacious and well appointed, the heating worked and the electric blankets were a very welcome extra! It's a great location and beautifully maintained grounds and buildings add to the feeling of well-being. Tasty food served at a sensible pace and a reasonable price just added the final touch.

Good value

Pleasant, one-night stay. Good value. Room was fairly small, but acceptable. Friendly, helpful staff. Great breakfast spread. Dinner at attached restaurant was very good. Located in Storms River Village next to other hotels, etc, but not much to do in the town.

Needs some repair but great potential

Even though it was the winter season the room smelled musty. The pull out couch for our two teens had a bar sticking up where their shoulders would be so they slept with their head at the foot. Great food in the restaurant. Great heater in the room. Owner very friendly. As long as you're not looking for anything special it's ok.

Has to be the best place to stay in Storms River

Posted Jun 12, 2013
Pros: The character of the buildings and helpfulness and friendliness of all the staff
Cons: I really can't think of anything!
Location: Superb - and Storms River is a great place to stay for visiting the Tsitsikamma area
This delightful place consists of a group of vernacular cottages and houses set around a large green space and garden. It has character as does each cottage in the complex. Our three night stay here was absolutely excellent, the room was of the highest standard, the food was superb, the staff were all so helpful and friendly and we were made to feel very welcome and at home. The restaurant was lovely, with a good menu and excellent local produce, beautifully cooked. The kudu, and ostrich, were both mouth-watering. The log fire was so good (it was winter) and the decor was cosy and very 'african'. The beakfast in the other restaurant was buffet style and offered everything one could possibly wish for to eat at breakfast. I would recommend this place to anyone.

Pros: Friendly staff, good location
Pleasant hotel in a good location, right in the heart of Tsitsikamma. We stayed in a big spacious room, quite basic but adequate. Nice cooked breakfast and buffet available.

Great place to stay

We booked the Tsitsikkama Village Inn as a 1 night stop over and were sorry that we didn't book it for longer. We had stopped at Storms river to do the tree top canopy tour (which was great and highly recommend) and we would have liked to stay for longer to do more activities. The hotel is really nice, the rooms are all set out around a very pretty green and the room was very spacious with a lovely patio sitting out onto the green. A very nice spot to stop off at and a lovely pool to relax by.
