Inexpensive, comfortable motel near downtown

Posted Jun 29, 2015
Pros: see above.
Cons: Elderly travelers would appreciate and some would require a grab bar to get into and out of the shower.
Location: Downtown Montpelier is 5 minutes away, with an excellent restaurant, Sarducci's, right there, others nearby and cafes, shops, drugstores, etc.
A good value at modes cost. Comfortable, clean room, free breakfast featuring eggs, sausage, fruits, cookies, free wifi, quiet, with helpful staff. It is near downtown, and there is a gas station at the end of the road. There is no elevator for access to upstairs rooms, but we were able to get a room on the ground floor.

The room smelled of damp, other than that it was o.k. as expected from a 2 star hotel. The breakfast was a nice surprise since they don't mention it on the hotel site.

Nice motel

Posted May 15, 2015
Pros: Friendly, helpful staff.
Cons: Heating was a little erratic. Floor sloped a little going into bathroom.
We booked on-line, and found this motel to be a nice older building with a winding staircase to the 2nd floor where we had our room. Treated very well.

Northfield Rd, Vt Econo Stay

It was a great stay for me -pleasant and overly helpful staff-a bit cold for me but that was immediately taken care of --was up from the Virgin Islands participating with my NU Classmates in the 1st Annual Norwich Univ Masters Swim Meet, not expecting the cold weather but adjusted quickly - For an inexpensive stay, and close to Norwich Univ, would recommend it.

Not the best...could have been worse...

Posted Apr 21, 2015 on Hotels
Breakfast was good for complimentary breakfast. After we got into our pajamas, ready to settle in for the night, had to call lobby staff to program the television remote, and to inquire as to why the ac/heater would not work. Hotel employee was very kind, programmed the remote for the TV and offered to get a handyman to come to our room to fix the ac/heater, as he lives only "a couple blocks" from the hotel. The last thing we needed was to have a handyman working in the room that time of night, with us in bed in our pjs, one being our 14 year old granddaughter. Luckily the temperature was neither too cold nor too warm, and we opened a small window to let in some fresh air, and let out the "staleness". Also, the mattresses were too firm for a good night's rest.

Nice Hotel and friendly staff

The hotel was nice, clean and the staff very friendly and helpful. The only thing that wasn't right was the water presure of the shower other than that everything was perfect!!

Cons: A GOOD cup of coffee would have made my stay SO much nicer. It was week.
This was all You could expect for the level of hotel - nothing more - nothing less. Clean room, comfortable bed and basic breakfast. The location worked well for getting to Mad River Glen ski area for a festival at a lower rate than closer accommodations.

Thin Walls - Bring your ear plugs

Extremely thin walls - can hear people snoring in room next door. Also, make sure to not have a room on the end because side door slams every time someone walks in or out. Honestly could not get any sleep...

Adequate over all

Pleasant for the price(85 w/aaa discount + taxes). The room heater was not working & had to be looked at by a maintenance man(very quick response!!very nice)!!Snow mounds were not moved far enough so that parking was a chore(especially getting out).Of course, handicapped spots were empty & that space was not available.Decent breakfast.
