2 Day visit.

Posted Sep 4, 2014
Pros: Great location, hotel staff, pool and facilities, beautiful room with fireplace and double Jacuzzi.
Cons: AC in room quite noisy, not central air. Restaurant staff seemed un-attentive. Saw our waitress very rarely during dinner. Long wait for hostess.
Location: Great location, plenty of shops nearby. At beginning of the trail.
Very nice and efficient staff at reception. Felt very welcomed. Very clean, well landscaped and very well maintained.

Weekend in Stowe

Posted Aug 27, 2014
Pros: The location was very central. The buildings had vintage charm. Breakfast in the main dining room was a good value. Staff was pleasant.
Cons: The mattress was very comfortable but much too high. You could ask for a step stool, which seemed ridiculous. They should just have them in the rooms!
Location: Very central location. The restaurant across the street, Harrison's, was very good. The local mini golf was fun and unusual. Drive up Smugglers Notch!
Spent a relaxing weekend in Stowe. Wasn't sure what to expect at a ski area in the summer but we had a good time. Ate, shopped, played mini golf, checked out Smugglers Notch, and Mount Mansfield. Green Mountain Inn had pluses and minuses. Our room was in the Annex, above the swimming pool, on the same level as the dining deck and above the pool bar. It smelled really musty with the a/c on, and was much improved when we opened the windows, but then we had to contend with the noise and lack of privacy. The carpet (or maybe just the pad) in the room really needed to be replaced, it crunched when you walked across it! Would stay there again, but not in the Annex.

Hearing that you had a relaxing weekend makes me very happy! Stowe has so much to offer year-round – from hiking and shopping, to sightseeing and incredible eateries – the winter is just one part of what makes the area so enjoyable. I certainly do apologize for any inconvenience you encountered and I thank you for bringing your concerns to my attention. I look forward to having you return to the Green Mountain Inn in the future and I hope it’s soon. Patti Clark General Manager

Quick Stay

Posted Aug 27, 2014
We did not take full advantage of our stay at the Green Mountain Inn, so I can't tell you about the food at the restaurant. However, the inn is in a very convenient location at the crossroads of the town. Going up to the mountain is a straight shot. Hotel is very clean, and public areas are well maintained. The room was very small, but had a comfortable bed. The bathroom was long and narrow, so only one of us could be in there at a time. I would definitely stay here again if in the area.

a little disappointed

Posted Aug 25, 2014
Pros: In room fridge, Keurig with Green Mountain coffee pods, electric fireplace, 5 windows, bathrobes... all pluses...
Cons: bathroom window wont stay open, no hooks to hang the bathrobes after use, loud air conditioning and noise from thanks to the 5 windows all minuses
Location: really enjoyed dinner at the Bistro at 10 Acres and breakfast at McCarthy's
Overall room 216 is wonderful. Unfortunately we had one request at booking and then again reiterated by phone... hubby has mobility issues... so we asked for main building area. When I called I was told we were on second floor 9 rooms away from the elevator but it is all they had but it is one of the most sought after rooms. Again it is a fabulous deluxe room with in room jacuzzi and king size canopy bed and fireplace. After settling in I went back downstairs to try to figure out a way for my hubby to get to our car more easily and I found a fire exit nearby which brings us to a side street and I was able to park there until 11. So the compromise is instead of walking a 150 yards to the elevator and then to the car my mobility challenged hubby had to walk the stairs... I went back to the front desk. Kaleb was very friendly, courteous and understanding but said there were really no room options as they were sold out.. I suggested maybe at least they could offer us breakfast, not having the nerve to ask for a partial refund on the room. He said he would be back at 7 a.m. and would ask the manager... I went down the next morning to find smiling Kaleb who said he was sorry but there is nothing they could do. Not really the response I was hoping to hear from the number 1 hotel in Stowe.

Historic Inn

Posted Aug 25, 2014
Pros: Very clean, good beds, large rooms
Cons: Gym was a little weak.
Location: Bike, hike, bars and restaurants (although most are not walking distance).
We had the original brochure from when grandma stayed there 35 years ago and the main part of the Inn looks just the same, but it is well preserved. Lots of pictures showing the history of the Inn. Our room was in a newer building and less atmospheric, but very large and comfortable. Very attentive staff. Did not eat here.

Nice, clean and well organized hotel

Posted Aug 25, 2014
Pros: We liked the rooms. Comfortable beds. Very clean bathrooms. Possibility of making our coffees in the room. Quiet rooms with air condition.
Cons: Nothing
Location: Beeing downtown Stowe gives the opportunity to walk around and meet people that are passing by or people working in the village. Every seems happy !
The people who work at the hotel where very polite and gave us all the information we wanted with a smile and respect. We noticed that the rooms where clean and nicely decorated and mostly quiet even if the hotel is situated on a busy street. Our romms where ion the side of the hotel. The supper and the breakfast next morning where very good. Excellent place to stay.

Green Mountain Inn

Posted Aug 24, 2014
Hotel was clean and staff was friendly. However, I am noticing lately, and it's not just limited to this hotel, that most reservations booked through expedia are placing me in more dated rooms in a less than ideal area of the hotel. For example, this most recent trip had us in the oldest part of the hotel with the closes entrance about 3-4 walking minutes away from our room.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience at the Green Mountain Inn with us. While I’m happy to hear you enjoyed the service levels you received from our staff, it is disappointing to hear that you did not enjoy your accommodations as much. Whether you book directly through our Inn or with a 3rd party service has no bearing on what room you are given, only that your requests cannot necessarily be guaranteed. I hope to continue to welcome you back to our Inn in the future. Patti Clark General Manager
