“Decent hotel. Friendly staff. Awesome price.”

I usually stay in big name hotels for the ability for late check in. The owners were very accommodating to my needs and made things very simple.

“Disgusting piece of junk”

When we arrived, tired and sweaty, we were looking to sign in quickly and go to the pool. The manager arrived and his grasp of English was so poor as to make the whole process almost unmanageable. After signing in, we asked about the pool and he told us it was shut down for the season. I told him his web site said that there was a pool and spa but he kept saying there weren't enough customers. He said he had one room with a spa but when I suggested that he should give us that room, he refused unless we would pay extra for the room. Aside from the convenience of the location there was nothing to recommend this hotel to anybody. The owner or manager was uncooperative and was quite aware of the false advertising but unwilling to change it or make any deals.

“Description of hotel amenities was not correct”

When we looked at the hotels description of the property it said they had a indoor pool, Jacuzzi and continental breakfast. Due to the season the pool and Jacuzzi had just been closed and there wasn't any breakfast. We upgraded to a Jacuzzi room but had to pay extra for the better room. Otherwise the hotel was in a quiet location and was very clean and comfortable.

“Mackinaw City experience”

Could not get anyone to answer the phone when we got into town to locate the hotel. When we arrived at the hotel, no one was in the office. Another couple and I were ringing the bell over and over and finally the manager/owner came in. The room was clean, but decorations, bedding and all were very old and outdated. Curtains were hanging off their hooks and made it difficult to close tightly and we were right on the corner where you wanted them closed as everyone walked by our room. Price was ok, but more in line with a remote cabin in the woods. Coffeepot was broken in the room and the so called breakfast was white bread, a toaster and some plain bagels and a coffeepot. Lucky the town has a lot of great resturants for breakfast. Didn't go into the pool area, but the windows were dirty.

“Mackinaw visit”

The room was very clean and accessable. My spouse is handicapped and so was able to get in and out with no trouble. It also had a refridgerator and microwave which I did not expect. I would recommend it highly.

Shopping
Lots of areas to go shopping and dining.

“Black mold”

The clerk at the desk was very helpful & pleasant. However I was extremely disappointed in the black mold that was in the bathroom. It was on the ceiling & along the baseboards. Unfortunately I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

“JUST OK”

Pool was very cold, room was dark, 2 broken light bulbs, and bed was HARD... breakfast was just ok, but the young lady who checked us in was very helpful and friendly and gave us coupons for the ferry! Which was much appriciated

“Great budget hotel”

This hotel, while not the fanciest, was a very serviceable room for the price. I would recommend it for travelers on a budget. Note: the breakfast was meager to begin, and was completely gone well before the time it was to end.
