Winter stop over

Posted Feb 2, 2015
First of Feb is not your typical stay for this place I'll agree. Second floor room with a balcony overlooking the river. King size bed was nice . Largeish room and nice shower. The Continental breakfast wasn't much, and it was a serpentine hike through the back of the hotel to find it. (just follow the signs) Overall it was a nice getway, probably a lot better stay during the summer when you can use the balcony.

Cozy, Great Hospitality

Posted Sep 23, 2014
Pros: cozy, clean, friendly staff
Cons: I don't think there is 24-hour staff.
Location: Big Boy, Arby's, right on the lake
I visited the incredibly rural area for a wedding and had no idea what to expect. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The vending machine ate my dollar in the middle of the night and the next morning when I reported this to the staff they handed me a dollar without question. We rented room 118, which was an accessible king bed, which was across from the pool and near the vending area. We had two doors, one was a glass french style door, facing the pool and the other was a regular door on the other side of the room. In the morning when other guests were going to breakfast we could clearly hear people talking and it was obvious that the walls/door were very thin. Other than this the room was very clean and cozy. I loved how spacious our room was. We had a TV, desk, mini fridge, king bed, plenty of great lighting. We did not eat the breakfast but it was pretty decent, with waffle makers, bread/toaster, fresh fruit, hard boiled eggs, yogurt, juice, coffee/tea. The hotel is also right next door to Big Boy.

Came up to walk the bridge. Great room with balcony on river. Great pool and hot tub. Close to Mackinac City but not in it or crowded.

Nice motel on the river

Posted Aug 20, 2014
Pros: clean room, nicely decorated, comfortable and great view of the river.
Cons: More to eat for breakfast
Location: Major bike trail literally steps from the motel, close to downtown Cheboygan, lighthouse downtown on channel.
Have stayed here several times for an overnight, always the same: friendly reception staff, nicely decorated room with comfortable bed, pretty view on the river. Even though there is a continental breakfast, we head into Cheboygan for a bigger breakfast.

Great visit to a new town

Posted Oct 20, 2013
Pros: Already covered above.
Cons: The only thing I would say is the screen door needed to be fixed going out to the patio.
I'd like to say I had an excellent stay at the Best Western River Terrace in Cheboygan. I was on a business trip there and stayed three nights. The staff was friendly and indeed helpful with directions or any questions I had. I hadn't been to Cheboygan before, although I'm a lifelong Michigander. A nice little town where everyone was nice starting from the hotel to gas stations and restaurants. I would highly recommend this hotel whether you are going on a business trip or just passing through. My room was on the first floor, and patio faced the Cheboygan river. It was gorgeous!

Pleasant stay! All of the staff were helpful.

Pros: Centrally located in town. Very nice view of the waterway from the balcony.
Cons: Seating in breakfast area is very limited considering you are not permitted to take food back to your room. Air conditioner way too loud..
Location: Lots of tourist attractions nearby at the bridge. I go to Cheboygan to visit family and not for recreation activities.
Not my first stay at this facility and will stay again on my next visit.
