Got upgraded to a suite because our room Wasnt ready. But we were actually a half hour before check in so it wasn't their fault. Room was awesome. Water park is great for the kids. If you have toddlers you can go down the slides with them. Overall a great experience. Second time we have stayed there.

Do Not Ever Stay Here!

Let me start by saying we have booked through Expedia many times before and have never had this kind of experience. The hotel refused to give us the room we reserved and paid for on Expedia. We planned a special weekend getaway for a small group of kids and so we needed a large room. I went to the desk to tell them they gave us the SMALL one bedroom suite instead of the large 2 bedroom we reserved and the guy insisted that was not what I had booked. I showed him my reservation which clearly showed what we booked. I asked him where 8 people were supposed to sleep in a room meant for 5, not to mention the price difference in the rooms. We paid top dollar for the room and ended up in a room that books for far less. He told me they could give us a rollaway. Well...that didn't help the other 2 people who still didn't have a bed. He then repeatedly told me they could not build another room. I told him they could give me the room I paid for. He then asked if I wanted another room. I asked if it connected. He said it would be on a different floor. Great, which of the 7 kids 12 and under should I put in the extra room on another floor! As if this wasn't bad enough, the pool was disgustingly dirty and the chemical smell was so bad the kids didn't even want to swim. Then the internet didn't work. while the kids were down at the desk trying to get their electronics connected he checked another person into the two bedroom suite...hours after we'd arrived. HORRIBLE SERVICE! DIRTY HOTEL!

Interesting layout

Overall about what you expect from a Comfort Inn. Not nice, not terrible, just a hotel. Rooms were mostly clean, comfortable for a budget hotel chain. The layout of the hotel was weird though - had to leave the lobby, walk outside to the end of the hotel, go inside a poorly marked backdoor, up the elevator, across the skybride, up a flight of stairs in the breakfast area, and then finally down the hall to my room. Seriously.

Comfort Suites & Water Park

The Comfort Suites was perfect for our large family (11) trip to Mackinac Island. It was raining the day we arrived for our stay at Comfort Suites, but the indoor water park kept our gang entertained for hours. The staff at the hotel was friendly and helpful and the free breakfast the next day was pretty good. The food was decent - nothing fancy - but fed everyone in our group. I would recommend The Comfort Suites and we will come back when we're in the area again.

Quality for price not there. Person at check-in not very good. 1 garbage can in the suite (incl bathroom). TV was a pain to operate, no instructions. Doors broken on kitchenette cabinets. Room was clean with lots of towels however, kudos to the cleaning people. Even with air conditioner on, could not regulate. Was way too pricey for the quality of the hotel being older & not maintained.
