Great location on Main St

Posted Jul 26, 2015
Hotel has a great location on the main drag. It is right across the street from two of the ferries (Shepler's and Star Line) so is quite convenient. The lobby is very nice and staff was great. Rooms are clean and nice and most overlook a central covered courtyard with an indoor heated pool. don't expect lake views as it is across the street with buildings in the way, but location is very good. Free breakfast was a bonus, but omelet bar was an extra $5 per omelet (disappointing). Overall, a very good experience. I would recommend.

Trip to Lake View

Posted Jun 1, 2015
Pros: I liked there was an indoor pool
Cons: Grape jelly would be wonderful
Location: horseback riding, buggy rides, bike rides, shopping, hiking
Check in was absolutely easy, but due to booking through Expedia, they refused to change any reservations for the part of the group who couldn't make it. The continental breakfast was set up wonderfully.

Pros: Location to all the Islands activities.
Cons: Worked fine for us.
Location: Right by the Star line dock, restaurants and shopping.
Pleased with room location to everything, nice place. Porch with chairs to sit and watch the street. Nice staff, clean room. Will stay here again.

Nice hotel close to the terminal

Posted May 25, 2015
The hotel is in front of the exit of the terminal. The room smell with chlorine because the pool is facing to the room.

A Classic

Posted May 25, 2015
Location: This hotel is located right on main street, across from the Star line ferry. Everything from dinning to bike rentals, to shopping is located there.
I have only stayed on the Island twice and both times at the Classic Lake View Hotel. The first time being 13years ago, then again Memorial weekend. I will say that to enjoy the island I probably would choose a non holiday weekend, very busy. I checked in early, but the room was still not available until 3pm which is the check in time. The lobby was enchanting with its Victorian appeal. The pool was clean and inviting. The hotel restaurant Goodfellows was very good, recommend the Grilled Chicken strawberry salad, delicious. The waitstaff were pleasant, and helpful. The complimentary breakfast was abundant, with omelets to order for an additional $5. I loved how you could look down from the second and third floor balconies overlooking main street.

Pros: See above.
It was the first time we did not stay at the Grand Hotel. We were happy that the Lakeview was located so close to everything.

Free is Not Free

Posted Oct 26, 2014 on Hotels
The hotel claims to have a free continental breakfast. What you get is a choice of some fruit, stale doughnuts, toast, or yogurt. They do charge you to get an omelette that is located in the "free" continental breakfast line. They completely neglect to tell you this until you're stuck in line. My wife and I were not very impressed by this, and we were not the only ones. This should have been clearly outlined. We will not be staying there again.

We apologize that there was confusion on this matter. The breakfast is provided by Goodfellow's and is free with an omelette that is only $5.00 if you choose to add it.
