“Best location in Mackinaw City”
Tony gave us the best room on the property! My 87 yo father-in-law has trouble getting around and they were very helpful.
“Room was a broom closet”
This hotel was very unpleasant. After expecting a 2-queen room, we arrived and were told we were getting a 1-queen room. We have two kids, so the second bed was a must. They said they were full for the night and there was nothing they could do. I asked if we could have a rollaway bed and the rude man at the counter refused to even consider our request, saying the room was to small to fit a rollaway. There was more than enough room for another small bed, but he insisted we would damage the walls or furniture if we had one brought in. "I can give you a pillow and a blanket for the floor," he told us. "That's the best I can do." We weren't about to have our son sleep on the filthy carpet, so he ended up in bed with us, and our other one slept in a pack-and-play, for which they charged us an additional $8/night. We weren't told about the additional charge for the pack-and-play when I called and requested one. Also, our room (212) had a stairway running through it. Thanks to a poorly designed building, a stairwell cut through one corner of the room, forcing us to listen to late-check-in guests tromping up the stairs all night. Lastly, less-than-acceptable green towels and washcloths were in the bathroom. Not sure about anyone else, but I prefer white towels, so I can see if they are clean or not. The one plus is the small park across the street with a view of the Mackinaw Bridge. Some of the rooms look over it. Ours looked over a parking lot. Oh, and the mattress is a rock.
“Beautiful view”
We had a beautiful view from the balcony of the Mackinaw Bridge. It was peaceful and centrally located to everything we wanted to do.
“not impressed”
the inroom lighting was very poor. the bathroom had no ventilation system for the steam from the shower. no in cieling light heating system in the bathroom. i just figured that i would have recieved more for the money. the room was clean and the service was good - the rooms just need to be upgraded in my opinion.
“Great stay”
Parkside Inn Bridgeview was exactly that, great looking well kept grounds and a view of the Mackinaw bridge. We walked across the parking lot and sat by the water with the bridge right there. Rooms and ground very well kept, and staff was very nice, with a great breakfast in the AM, breakfast didnt go late enough though only till 9:30. I would go back again.
