Enjoyed our short stayPosted Dec 8, 2014
Pros: We loved the olde time feel of the hotel and its history. The room was spacious, clean and the water like silk, was hot which was great.
Cons: Cooked breakfast: sausages better browned, eggs cooked by staff as required as is done in Africa would have made a big difference.
On arrival as a new guest we did not receive directions to where the restaurant was by the receptionist and had to ask other staff. Also had to ask rather than be told the layout of the hotel.

Good enoughPosted Sep 1, 2014 on Hotels.com
The rooms are a little dated, and beware if you are staying when there is a wedding or an event in the bar - the rooms at the front are very noisy, not helped by the morning traffic. On the plus side, the food is very good and the staff are friendly and helpful. One point of notice - I booked bed & breakfast through hotels.com and luckily I had a hard copy of my booking as the hotel had us down for accommodation only - for the same price! They had to take a photocopy of my booking form for their records.

Ancient HotelPosted Aug 6, 2014
Cons: Clean and international manners of the staff, especially for non-English speakers.
Hotel located in a small village without services around. The hotel is old and poorly maintained. The spa is not clean and several services was broken. Meals too expensive.

Old family-run English style hotelPosted Mar 17, 2014 on Hotels.com
Nifty old style English hotel, run by the 3rd generation of the Kee's family. Unfortunately we had a really bad time parking, since there was a wedding and the parking lot was rather small. We had no space to park but behind someone else (like everyone else had already done) - We then got a call at 1AM to move our car, which was a bit of a hassle. The breakfast buffet was very good and somehow made up for our late night wake-up call.

Picked Kees for the excellent restaurant, unfortunately it has been replaced. Everything was great, the staff as always extremely friendly and helpful. The food in the current restaurant was a very good standard although the menu lacks the imagination of the old one.
