the desk was open all the time and the employees were very nice and helpful. the location is a very easy walk from the train station and there are places to walk easily from the hotel.

I really can not rate hotel. There had been a fire in the restaurant next door shortly before we arrived. Le Grillon arranged for us to be in hotel across the street. We arrived quite late but they were there for us.

Dirty Blankets and pillows

Posted Sep 2, 2011
The Le Grillon hotel is situated close to the main railway station, so it is in a convenient location if you are passing through Strasbourg. It is cheep, but certainly not cheerful. The main problem for me was that the pillows and blankets were very old and really dirty. My pillow case was black with mildew and the blanket was so old and worn that it was falling apart. I actually slept without the pillow and blankets. My advice is to pay a little extra and stay in one of the many chain budget hotels in the area.

Good hotel but.....

.....we had room on the street w/ balcony, and in the wee hours a few patrons at the bar below us were noisy. Otherwise, enjoyable: clean, comfortable, nice people, great location and proximity to sights and le gare.
