Recommended: Fantastic hotel. We loved everything about it. We found the staff very professional and polite. The breakfast was excellent with a wide variety of quality food. Not recommended: The hotel is in a great location to both the train station and the center of Stresa, boat docks, lake front, etc. The room we had was not real clean, not even a single glass (even plastic) in the room. Villa Pallavicino has a fine wooded park, botanic garden and small zoo. The favourite excursion is to the Borromean Islands, particularly Isola Bella, for its palace and gardens. A cable car from Stresa to Monte Mottarone (1,491 metres) offers great views of the lake and islands.
