Posted Feb 26, 2015
Pros: site, staff,comfort.
Cons: 1 evening food could do with some garnish included (salad) 2. breakfast eggs and bacon done to order ( not rock hard under a heat lamp,)
Ok so some of the carpets are a little worn but so what, plenty of wow the setting, and impressive decor, food very reasonable, try the mushroom risotto, plenty of breakfast . overall recommend if you want a castle in the country in the midlands at a very reasonable price

Lady Warwicks Castle

Posted Feb 21, 2015
Pros: Ambience, location and service.
Cons: Very little, if anything, once the rooms are refurbished and the new restaurant opens. However, it would be a good idea to invest in new signposts.
Location: As the location is superlative, I seldom leave the castle...
A castle which really is a castle... From its minstrels gallery and vaulted ceilings, from its welcoming fireplaces and comfortable leather armchairs around them, it earns its place in the list of my UK favourite hotels (as a travel writer I have spent the majority of my life in them). I have stayed there under its differing ownership, but the standard has never dropped. It has an ambience which is unique. The only reason I score it 4 instead of 5 on facilities is that its planned new restaurant is not yet up and running, but I could find no fault with the limited menu and cellar. I also understand the rooms are about to be refurbished, which is part of its ongoing improvement. Dogs are welcome (at a charge) with the castle's 28 acres to walk them in... Lady Warwick owned the castle and estate during one period, and provided an agricultural college for girls - thinking which was way ahead of its time. The rack rate makes the castle one of the best deals in the UK for those with a sense of history, but I would hurry before the room rates increase...

The building exterior is beautiful. Staff helpful and friendly. Room clean and comfortable, good heating. Breakfast was a good buffet. Negatives were that the sauna was not working and the restaurant was closed that night.
