Room

Posted Aug 30, 2014
Pros: The staff were nice and having a warm breakfast was nice.
Cons: If a traveler has prepaid for a room, cut the AC. Do a much better job to separate the smoking room from non smoking rooms.
Location: It's Stuttgart AR. Nothing to say.
I got to the room after hours between midnight and 1:00 am and it was on the first floor, so I has happy about it being on the first floor. The first thing in the room was the smoke smell was extremely strong and it is a non smoking room. When I checked out, the attendant used the excuse that the room next door is a smoking room. This facility and staff doesn't understand (or don't care) that some people like myself that it's not a matter of preference but necessity having Asthma. The room was HOT and uncomfortable for most of the night (A/C was turned off upon entry). The lights didn't come on when I flipped the switch up. I had to manually turn lights on in the dark. This is a safety concern. If I didn't have a flashlight, I wouldn't see my way around well and could have gotten hurt. The hotel didn't conform to corporate Day's Inn WiFi SSID requirements. This location apparently is for truck drivers or construction workers and not business travelers and families. My first thoughts were, they gave me a crap room because I didn't book the room directly and made me feel that I got what I paid for. As a matter of fact, I instructed the others that came into town a day later for the same meeting to NOT check into the Day's Inn and they were pleased with the Duck Inn. If I hadn't prepaid for the room through Expedia, I would have checked out and into Duck Inn myself.

Great hotel, but distance

GREAT. Only one thing could make it better. Protein for breakfast: no meat, no peanut butter. Hard on a low carb diet. The only other problem was location; but, that was my mistake. I didn't realize how far this was from Little Rock.

Other than breakfast being about out of food at 730 and nothing being added, not a bad place. Beds were awesome! Trains going by were LOUD!!
