Call me lazy, but I normally don't take the time to leave reviews when I travel, but I felt that this hotel deserved a response.
My wife and I travelled to Sudbury for a funeral. We weren't exactly in a jovial mood, and were apprehensive to stay in a hotel that catered to families and children. We've stayed in similar hotels with unescorted kids running up and down the halls, filthy upholstery, and wet tiles from the pool crowd. This place was nothing like that.
The hotel is probably the cleanest that we've ever stayed in. Although it's a few years old and shows a bit of wear, you can tell that the staff take the time to clean properly. Even the bathtub was scrubbed to a shine, with no water marks or soap scum. The suite itself was well laid out, small but efficient. A full sized fridge, microwave, dishwasher, toaster, coffee maker, and small two burner ceramic stovetop. The appliances were all pristine. I always wear socks or slippers when I go to hotels, but the tiles and carpet were so clean that I threw caution to the wind and let my tootsies breathe.
My wife and I are vegetarian and rarely are sated when it comes to included breakfasts. Not here. Many options for meat eaters and veggies alike.
But by far, the best part of our experience (and the only reason I'm writing this review) was the front desk clerk that greeted us. Phillip was absolutely incredible. He was kind, genuine, honest, funny, and made us feel at ease. This hotel is lucky to have him on staff.
