There under construction, but the cushions outside are filthy dirty , you can can tell nobody even tried to wipe them down or the tables. So we couldn’t even enjoy sitting outside. Disappointed

It is a lovely property and the staff is excellent. It is undergoing renovation, which made some areas unusable. It will soon be beautiful.
Our stay was very nice. Awesome experience. Will be back again!

The properties location was beautiful however the staff and entire hotel have some massive opportunity regarding taking care of customers. Just a simple hello as we walk in/out would be appreciated.
We wish we were inform the hotel was under renovation nobody told us, there was nothing to do outside the room. If I new, I’d probably spend $166 at another hotel for a night it’s unfair
The hotel is in the middle of a renovation but was still functional. The pool was very cold but my grandson didn’t mind. The hotel staff were great and attentive. The breakfast buffet was very good and reasonably priced. I look forward to staying there again when I am in town.
The only thing that really dampened our stay was the renovations. Otherwise I feel five stars would have been possible. I was on the third floor and could still hear at jackhammer type sound in my room. I don't know if it was regular price or discounted price but I felt like the breakfast buffet was a little too expensive considering it was a makeshift dining room and a convention room. It felt more like a slightly better Continental buffet or breakfast where get eggs and meat and all that stuff but some of it needs to be microwaved before you can eat it. Now let me be clear none of the food tasted that way but it was not as hot as I felt it could have been. And I only mention it because breakfast is one of those two if it's a hot food it only tastes right as a hot food. Me and the wife even ordered fresh eggs and they came just above warm but at the bottom edge of hot because they had to be cooked and I pitching further away and then brought a distance to the dining area. The staff though was the best. Thank you for helping me celebrate my 33rd wedding anniversary. It was my first time at the hotel and it was a last minute thought but it did work out wonderfully for us in our memories.
The breakfast was overpriced for the options. I paid $15 for the buffet and the only item I could eat was scrambled eggs. I usually stay at the Hilton in Suffolk which is much better. When I checked out at the front desk, I was not asked how I enjoyed my stay or thanked for reserving with Hilton. Unfortunately, as a black woman, this is not unusual. The female bartender was very cordial when I arrived 2/10. The other staff were on their phones and seemed annoyed to be at work.
This is our third year staying at this property. The staff were nice but didn't seem to care about the property itself. When told about issues, no seemed interested to check them out. When I spoke with the manager, all the information I shared was a surprise to her, so staff is also not logging in the issues. Would like to come back another year, but only if they make some changes.
I went to a hiring event at this location, and also booked a room there to stay in after. The staff was extremely friendly, helped us check in early, and the breakfast food was amazing.
We were not happy with our in-room experience. For starters our shower/tub was clogged up and had a very slow drain. This problem was to the extent of standing dirty water after a shower. We brought this to the attention of the front desk and was assured that it would be addressed. Unfortunately it was not.
After being out and returning to the room our bathroom had a surprisingly odd stench of marijuana which was not there when we initially checked in!? Aside from that our tub drainage issue was never repaired and the hotel did not offer any sort of compensation for the inconvenience nor did they acknowledge someone came to assess the issue. This was frustrating as we had to play the roll of paying guest and house keeping to keep the bath tub clean from floating dirt around the tub.
The final straw that led this review was when we realized our rooms had not been cleaned by the following night. Upon returning from our event we realized there was still trash in the room that had not been removed, dirty towels and wash clothes that had not been replaced and a bed that was not made up while we were out for the day. Needless to say we contacted the front desk and expressed our unhappiness with the way our room was disregarded. The reply I received from the front desk clerk was:
"Hilton adopted a new policy to do away with daily room cleaning services, but we will clean your room at your request if you need it."
A policy we were not made aware of upon check in.
Beautiful property. We really enjoyed walking around and checking out the river and all the wildlife. Very scenic place to stay. Excellent conference facilities!
Exactly what I would expect from a Hilton Garden Inn hotel! Close to downtown and I had a very pleasant one-night stay while traveling through southern VA.
Nice location on the river and close to many shops/restaurants and only 20 mins away from Rivers Casino
Hotel staff were friendly as well
Rooms need a bit updated furniture and carpet but overall clean
Bathrooms have full size shampoo/conditioner and lotion

Relaxing stay for the most part….
Staff customer service was exceptional. Heather was great at check-in.
The knob for the hand held shower head was broken & the water was slow to drain in the tub. Parking after 7pm can be ridiculous and difficult to find a space at times.
Also, my family noticed a bed bug on the wall next to the bed & night shade in the room across from us, so that was disappointing. I was present when it was noticed..No one from the hotel staff bothered to come in to look at it, so it appeared that it was of no surprise to the hotel staff. Appreciated how promptly they responded to switch rooms for my family.
I’d stay again because I have personally never had any issues during my previous days. Seeing that bed bug creeped me out but I’ll just make sure to check the beds very closely next time.

The staff at this hotel is amazing! Could use some updating but I loved our stay
We were traveling with 2 dogs so we couldn’t go into a restaurant to dine. This facility had a large veranda with a beautiful view. The waitress from the on site restaurant brought our meals out on the veranda and even brought bowls of water for our dogs. Staff here was wonderful.

Overall, it was a great stay. The only problems encountered were no hotel directory and the entry light not working.
I’ve stayed at the Hilton Riverfront a few years ago and had a pleasant experience, so I returned. Clean bathroom & bedding with a small microwave and fridge.
What I didn’t like was the old stained furniture, dusty table , damaged railing and grass growing out of what was said to be the presidential suite which was suppose to be and upgrade for some reason!!! I paid $162 for a standard king room which let’s me know to spend more for better accommodations!
