“Hintlesham Hall, great place to stay.”

The grounds are pleasant to walk around in, also has a golf course and spa/gym. The restaurant is lovely with great waiting staff, never had to wait for anything.

Area recommendations
Bury St. Edmunds is close by for a day trip with some good shopping.
Dining
They have a very good restaurant on site.
Nightlife
The George is just a two minute walk away if you are looking for steak and ale pie with a pint.

“Beautiful country house hotel experience”

Hintlesham is a beautiful old country house hotel with 400 years of history. We stayed in Timperly rooms in the converted stable block: large, charming timber beamed room with creaky floors but all modern comforts including LCD TV, wireless Internet etc. etc. Staff could not have done more -- they helped us with everything we needed and provided prompt service. Restaurant was very good, as was service in the lounge / bar area. We'll be back!

What to pack
Jacket for dinner. While the staff are gracious and will seat anyone regardless of dress code, you'll want to dress up a bit. No tie required, but a jacket is highly recommended for gentlemen.
