Great stayPosted Nov 30, 2013
Pros: The room had everything, from a sewing jit in a drawer to a small torch by the bed.
Cons: Would be nice if rooms were en-suite.
Location: Lots to do nearby but we didn't get the chance to explore
The owner was very helpful and did everything she could to make our stay an enjoyable one. The bed was orthopedic and very comfortable. It was a shame that the room wasn't en-suite but there's only two rooms so it's not a problem sharing. Breakfast was delicious!

Nice B&B Close to CambridgePosted Nov 18, 2013
Pros: Great family and welcoming friendly atmosphere. The property is very nicely decorated and furnished and very relaxing.
Cons: I would honestly struggle to find any fault or room for improvement. This is genuinely a lovely place to stay.
Location: There is a couple of nice lo pubs nearby but we did not have time to try them. Great location and easy to get anywhere quickly but nice and quiet.
We booked into the Lord Mayor's Cottage due to visiting friends locally for a celebration. It was important that we had a nice play to stay with a welcoming atmosphere. We found our stay was wonderful and Vicky the owner was very friendly and made us feel at home, immediately making us a tea and coffee upon our arrival. We were given keys so that we could come and go without the need to knock the door / ring the bell. Breakfast was truly fabulous and set us up for the day. We had a good chat with Vicky too and found that this was a good family orientated place to stay. Very charming and we will definitely be staying again and would have no hesitation recommending the Lord Mayors Cottage to family or friends.

Wonderful hosts and great residencePosted Oct 20, 2013 on Hotels.com
We stayed for one night as we were going to a wedding at nearby Chippenham Park. The hosts were wonderful, couldn't have asked for more. The property is lovely and it's worth taking a walk along the river at the back of the cottage. The room is 'cosy', so wouldn't suit those who like to have lots of space, but it's perfect as a base, and place to rest your head. Like other reviews, the breakfast was delicious. Thanks very much for a great stay. Would recommend.

If ,like me, you tire of the blandness and expense of British hotels, then you will be very pleased with this small but welcoming and comfortable guest house.
