This was the first time we've stayed at a Westgate Resort. The resort itself is nice. Very scenic and beautiful. We did have difficulty at check-in as the staff tried to tell me I still owed $150 more than Expedia told me I owed. I provided my confirmation from Expedia and he did deduct some of the balance however it was still more than what I was quoted. The map provided was helpful and we found ourselves driving to the very top of the mountain for our room. The rooms were clean and the staff was very helpful. We had two complaints. The first came right as we tried to find a place to park. The parking near your room is very limited. We had to park several times far away (about a 5 minute walk) from our room and walk with our luggage, etc down the mountain. Parking was always an issue. We attempted to use the dryer in our unit only to find that once the laundry was in, getting it out was a problem as it takes about 45 minutes for the unit to cool and open. The wash/dry cycle took about 4 hours to complete with a small load. When we visited the water park, we were told we could not park near the water park and had to park in front of the units further up the mountain because of "high traffic". We later found out this meant, they needed the parking for all the time share tours they were conducting that day as we saw one pass by us every 3-4 minutes while in the water park. Lastly, the water park was nice, not too crowded especially on a holiday weekend.

This hotel RULZ!!!! Its a little older building but it has been kept up nicely! The 2 heated pools and hot tub were excellent. Very Clean!! This place is about a 5-10 minute walk from downtown Gatlinburg and really close to everything. There is also trolley stops right outside of the hotel that is within easy walking distance. We booked the King Balcony room and I could only complain about one thing. The size of our particular bathroom was pretty small and would be hard for someone to turn around in there or get into the tub. The tub sides were really high, so if you have a hard time getting around be sure to let the staff know! I WOULD DEFINATELY RECOMMEND and will DEF be going back!! Very nice beds!!!!

I wasn't expecting such a lovely place, especially because we booked it at the last minute on Expedia. When we arrived, the skies opened. The office manager was giving me the key, then said "just a moment, I'll give you another room that has an overhang for your car." It is such consideration that will make us choose to stay here again in the future. The sound of the river below our private balcony soothed our nerves after driving for 10 hours in terrible weather.
