“BEST KEY WEST HOTEL IN SUGARLOAF”

I HAD THREE KIDS.... THEY WERE WONDERFUL..... NO HASSELS, NO PROBLEM WITH THE STAFF AND THE CLEANING LADY. NEXT TIME I GO TO KEY WEST, I WILL STAY IN THIS HOTEL.

“Lovely.”

Lovely view of water. Clean facilities. Nice grounds. Great birds around to offer wonderful sounds of nature. Restaurant closed for renovation so hope to return and have that as an additional amenity. They really should improve the offerings for the morning: coffee, tea and donuts was NOT very appealing. How about adding some hard boiled eggs or yogurt or whole wheat toast? Most/many people really want something a little healthier than sugary stuff. Otherwise wonderful stay and we would go back.

“Cool atmosphere”

The staff was soo nice and laid back and the rooms were great, they are very retro and cool. I loved it. They also have flat screen tvs which is always a plus. We will definitely be staying there when we go back.

“Sweet”

Some renovations were made in the rooms. Much better experience than last year. Wonderful view from all the rooms. Relaxing tiki bar for a morning coffee. Overall quiet although close to the road.

“Cool little place”

We had a nice time. It is close enough to Key West without paying the outrageously high Key West prices. If you are lucky enough to have a bottom unit, you have a nice outside area to relax and tan with a beautiful waterfront view. Tiki bar is cool too and they play live music. Overall, a nice little place.

“Retro and comfortable”

The hotel was clean and simple just what we were looking for. The decor was retro like a lot of hotels in the Keys. They had coffee, juice and doughnuts at the Tiki bar in the morning and drinks in the evening. Two of the nights we were there they had live music. Not loud and disturbing but a guitar player that sang. There were a lot of locals that were there. They can in cars or by boat. We had one maintenance issue while we were there and it took less than five minutes for someone to get there and resolve the problem. The staff was friendly and appeared like they really cared that our stay was comfortable. They are building a new restaurant there over the water; I cannot wait to try it when we return. If you are looking for a place to kick back and walk out your back door and look at the water, this is it.

“Roomy, friendly 70's environment”

The rooms were airy and clean and the staff very nice. Our one complaint was that the restaurant was closed for renovations and the Tiki Bar that was supposed to serve informal grilled dinners was only open for one night of our 3 night stay. There are not very many restaurants close by but we did find a few that were within a reasonable distance and were very good. The lodge was also right next to the only highway that goes through the Keys so the road noise was apparent when we were outside of our room. The room itself was quiet with a 70's feel.

“Great for Fishermen!”

Stayed here while I went on a flats fishing trip. It was perfect for me, as I was by myself. Don't think I would take my wife there. Hotel was nice, but just not modernized, which was nice actually. Plan on staying here again the next time i go fishing there!

“Convenience and character”

Older rooms but clean and comfortable. Some minor maintenance issues but nothing to preclude a good time. No food on premises except a pizza restaurant, leased out, with lousy service. Great views of bay and wildlife refuge. Not on ocean or gulf. Reasonable prices for so far south in the keys. Highly convenient to Key West (17 miles) or Marathon (about 22 miles). Great outdoor bar W/ entertainment. Great restaurant just down the road.
