My room was upgraded hence the higher rating. I was down graded on my last night to the original booking and I would give that room only one and half stars. Bathroom had water problems and smelt. You are better to pay the extra and get a better room

I loved the Erten Konak. Very clean.
Its somewhat a boutique hotel. The staff is very corteous.
When we first arrived I was not sure about the street, but turns out it was pretty safe and near to the sites we wanted to see, also near to good restaurants. Once you walk the Old city you will find out that many streets looks just like the one this hotel is at.
We'll stay here again.

This hotel was more like a quaint b&b close to the historic sights but off the main street so we felt more like locals. The staff was excellent, helpful and honest. We were directed to local eateries in the area and by the end of our week in the area we were greeted like locals while walking down the street. Deniz, the manager helped us book tours to see historic sights and was also helpful when we wanted to wander in our own. Overall an EXCELLENT experience in Istanbul!

Now that I am back home I can't stop thinking about my stay at the Armada. My room was small-ish but delightful - comfortable bed, beautiful bathroom, charming decor. I slept wonderfully. everything worked perfectly, from shower/tub to air conditioning to tv. Although the hotel seemed full and busy, it was quiet. The staff were friendly and very helpful. and the location was perfect - a short walk to all the historic sites. But most wonderful was the rooftop restaurant. The view of Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia, and the sea was unsurpassed and the food, both for breakfast and dinner was delicious.

Location ,incredibly kind staffs , 3g modem, complimentary tea time.. everything was perfect except poor insulation. You can even hear sneezing sound of a next room. But it is not that big issue for us. We will return next time.

The Sultanahmet district is the centre of Old Istanbul, home to many of the city’s most famous attractions. The district is named after Sultan Ahmed I, who ordered the construction of the Sultan Ahmed Mosque, also known as the Blue Mosque. Other attractions include the Ayasofya (Hagia Sophia), Topkapi Palace, Byzantine Hippodrome, and Basilica Cistern.
