Recreation

Guests have access to outdoor mountain view spa tubs.

Summit County, where Breckenridge is located, offers numerous recreational activities. Besides skiing and snowboarding, winter sports include ballooning, sleigh rides, and snow tubing. Summer sports include hiking, biking, gold panning, ballooning, rafting, and mine tours.

Other shuttle-accessible Summit County resorts are Arapahoe Basin and Copper Mountain. A-Basin, as it's known locally, stands tall at 13,050 feet. Its 69 trails are reached by six lifts; the terrain park, Mutha' Hucker, is one of the highest in North America. A-Basin's season extends from October through June, depending on weather and snow. Copper Mountain's 125 trails are accessible by 22 lifts. It also has terrain parks for adults and children, and jib parks, including Night Rider, open evenings on Fridays.

The recreational activities listed below are available either on site or near the hotel; fees may apply.

The cliff-top lodge faces Breckenridge, which has a summit elevation of 12,408, and which gets an average of 300 inches of snow annually. Its four interconnected mountains—Peaks 7, 8, 9, and 10, each with its own personality—encompass 2,207 acres, including four terrain parks, four half-pipes, and 772 acres of bowls. The resort's 146 trails are 52 percent expert/advanced, 33 percent intermediate, and 15 percent beginner, and are accessible by 27 lifts.

Keystone Resort is seven miles from Breckenridge and linked by a complimentary shuttle service and interchangeable lift tickets. The resort, which has a 12,408-ft summit and gets 230 inches of snow annually, offers 2,870 acres with 116 trails: 19 percent beginner, 39 percent more difficult, and 49 percent most difficult. These are accessible by 19 lifts, including two gondolas. Keystone is popular because it stays open late. At the height of the season, 15 trails and a lighted terrain park are open at night.

Golf is played at the Breckenridge Golf Course, a 27-hole Jack Nicklaus-designed municipal course; Keystone Ranch and The River Course, both at Keystone, located 10 miles from the lodge; The Raven Golf Course at Three Peaks in Silverthorne, 14 miles away; and at Copper Creek, the highest championship golf course in North America, located 18 miles west at Copper Mountain.

Activities at the Dillon Dam Recreation Area, 10 miles north of Breckenridge, include boating, sailing, camping, canoeing, fishing, and Nordic skiing. Both the Breckenridge and Silverthorne recreation centers include indoor pools, basketball courts, skateboard parks, indoor climbing, tennis courts, and fitness programs.

“Close to the action but removed”

I had a nearby appointment and Expedia showed this as the closest and most inexpensive place to stay. Sometimes that can be the kiss of death. It is rustic construction with some obvious miles but overall quiet and pleasant. I did not use the Spa or hot tub but it was inviting. My room was spacious with two queeens and a nice little deck overlooking the courtyard. It is no Four Seasons but it was also less than a Cnote for the night. Also it included a breakfast which was a nice addition since it is at the top of the hill. I did not ride the shuttle downtown but also a nice perk.

Area recommendations
Breckenridge has grown into a thriving and bustling destination and if you can't find something to do after hours, just go to bed!

“old, worn, needs some updates - basic”

Located higher into mountain with fantastic views. Older, facilities worn and not the most cleanly. No elevator. Room and bed clean and comfortable enough. Breakfast presentation good, actual selection minimal - waffles, bagels, cereal - dining room with great view. WIFI available only in lobby. Have to use old metal keys, charge you for loss.

“Great if you like to escape”

Great little retreat hotel...no restaurant so you have to hit town, about two miles away if you want to eat. That said the location and views are stunning. The hotel services are very lacking though. And all they have are vending machines, and if you are okay with paying $2 for a bottle of soda, that cool. The decor is great, nothing lavish, but very comfortable. The fireplaces make some noise if it's windy, but not a big deal to me...well not really. I would def go back...

“great value and pet friendly”

tucked away on mountain opposite of ski slopes, so great view. generous size room with comfortable beds, clean bathroom and windows that open. staff was extremely welcoming and helpful - it was like staying with my family. The common areas were just what you want in an old lodge: big comfortable chairs and sofas, rocking chairs and fire places. free transportation and bus stop just out the front door. did not have my pet with me but enjoyed seeing other guests with theirs. will definitely stay here again.

Area recommendations
convenient to skiing Breckenridge, Keystone and Copper Mountain. went into Frisco daily for the Wal-Mart run and some great eating places that where not as crowded as the resorts.
Events and shows
dinner sleigh ride from Keystone a must

“Nice Getaway”

The Breckenridge Lodge and Spa is a very nice place. The staff was very friendly and the lodge was clean. The facilities are worn but comfortable. You have to drive to everything but then with the view, where would you need to go. And nothing is all that far. Less than 10 minutes. I would go back.

“Good retreat away from everything with a beautiful view of the Rocky Mountains”

This hotel is situated on a mountain a couple of minutes from downtown Breckenridge. It is a well kept property away from everything. The front desk is open 24 hours and the staff is super friendly. The offer a shuttle during the ski season. We were there in October and the shuttle was not operating. It was not a problem since we had rented a car and there was ample free parking. The hotel has a small but comfortable lobby. They offer a daily continental breakfasts with juices, pastries, cereal, yogurt, fruits and fruit juices, and Belgian waffles. Coffee, apple cider, and hot chocolate also available. The hotel does not have a bar nor a restaurant. However, they do have wine openers if you would like to consume your own wine. We wanted a king size bed with a view but it was not available. We got one with two queens. The view was beautiful. For some reason, one bed was much comfortable than the other. There was a baby staying next to our room a couple of nights and the poor thing had a hard time sleeping and we could hear him crying (not the hotel's fault). All in all a very nice stay!

“GREAT LOCATION/VIEW! GOOD SERVICE”

This hotel was awesome! We stayed in a nice king room, only problems were a few mechanical issues ie patches on the ceiling. Breakfast was good and the view from the breakfast area is breathtaking. Attached is a spa and workout facility. This hotel also has a free shuttle stop into Breckenridge. WOULD RECOMMEND!
