Wayside Inn

Posted Jul 27, 2015
Pros: Price and location
Great location just outside of Breckenridge. Room was clean and tastefully decorated. Bed was comfortable. Shower was a bit cramped and more suitable for someone 6' tall.

Clean, simple motel in peaceful location

Posted Jul 20, 2015
Pros: The location was perfect, right in-between Frisco and Breckenridge and close to the awesome bike paths of Summit county.
Cons: The door did not stay closed unless the deadbolt was locked. Daylight showed underneath the door. They might consider replacing the doors and locks.
Location: Breckenridge ski area is only a couple miles south of the hotel. Frisco and Lake Dillon a few miles north. Lots of restaurants and plenty to do!
My husband and I really enjoyed our two night stay at this motel. It was clean and the bed was very comfortable and we relaxed in their hot tub. They serve coffee and tea in the lobby in the morning. Our TV setting was goofed up and the owner came down to our room immediately to reset it for us.

Much more run down than I expected

Posted Jul 13, 2015
Pros: The couple that runs it is incredibly friendly! The bed was clean and fairly comfortable.
Cons: They need some serious updating and at least have windows that are safer to keep open at night. put some sound proofing insulation.
Location: The location is beautiful and right in-between Frisco and Breckenridge. Very easy to get to and find.
Bed was clean and fairly comfortable. the decor was dated and frankly, unloved. There is no air conditioning so the only air flow is the window. There is no screen on the window and it is either open or closed. I was there with my young daughter and kept picturing someone or something climbing into the wide open window so we had to leave it closed. It was stuffy and uncomfortable until about 3AM. The bathroom was tiny and VERY run down. The walls are paper thin.

Avoid in the summer.

Posted Jun 28, 2015
Cons: Install screens on the windows and at least put a fan each room for air circulation.
The staff was super-friendly, the room was clean and the location was conviently located between Frisco and Breckenridge, Colorado. BUT, the room had no air conditioning, just a heater. (Which is fine if you're visiting during the winter months. But we were there at the end of June.) We opened the window to let some cool mountain air into the room, but the lack of screens permitted bugs to enter. And since smoking is only permitted outside of the rooms, our neighbor's cigarette smoke also entered our room. Overall, this would have been a much better stay if it were cold outside, letting us use the heater and keep the windows closed.

Motel located between frisco and Breckenridge

Posted Jun 25, 2015
We wanted a cheap place to come back to after a long day of hiking/biking. We didn't want to pay for luxury, and got exactly what we wanted. I'd stay there again if I ever go back to the area! Staff was friendly and helpful giving advice on what to do. Rooms were clean and comfy. No air conditioning, but it cooled down at night so it didn't matter.

Very pleasant experience, would stay here again

Location: (see "about my experience")
First, I came to Colorado to enjoy Colorado, not veg out in my hotel room. The Wayside Inn was more than adequate for us to sleep, shower, and rest during our vacation. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful, and they had two very friendly dogs that added to the charm of the office. The rooms were not luxurious, and nothing was very modern, but were totally OK by my standards: clean and comfortable. The bathroom was very simple, with shower only and no tub. The TV, which we never watched, was the old tube type, not flat screen. There was free WiFi, and I'm pretty sure that I remember it worked well enough. There was no refrigerator or microwave, but the office had those plus a very small "store" with a limited selection of snacks and personal items (with fair prices). There was an outdoor hot tub that was clean and operated well. The location of this hotel was a bit outside of town, not a problem for us since we had a car, but not within walking distance of downtown Breckenridge. The driveway was dirt and gravel, not paved, but not a problem for us. Guests around us were quiet and well-behaved, so no problem there. If you want a deluxe room and accommodations, try somewhere else. But if you want a nice-enough place for a fair daily rate, I highly recommend Wayside Inn.

No hotel staff on site. Arrived late and had to find another place to stay as there was no one to check me in.
