Sunset Strip Vacations
Sunset Strip is situated approximately 30 miles (48 kilometers) south of Nadi and 60 miles (97 kilometers) west of the national capital, Suva.
The area around Sunset Strip is wonderfully endowed with natural and cultural attractions, from big-ticket tourist hotspots to quiet, secret places that are waiting just for you. Approximately 4 miles (6 kilometers) away you'll find Sigatoka. Head here to visit the Sigatoka Sand Dunes and Kula Eco Park.
If you are after things to do inside, it's hard to go past Fiji's craft workshops and art galleries. These are good places to learn a little about the local lore and culture and perhaps pick up an unusual souvenir. This region is home to a rich religious life; learn more at the area's most important temples.
Follow your passions and book one of the guided nature walks. There are plenty on offer in and around the Fiji area. Pack your equipment or rent it locally, and get out onto the water. Sea kayaking is a popular activity. Another one is surfing.
Fiji cuisine has its own special flavors, so take the time to delve into the area's menus. You'll see that sweet potato and coconut are often-used elements in many local meals. There are lots of interesting meals here. Taste kokodo (marinated raw fish) or palusami (steamed meat with coconut and taro leaves). And no meal is complete until you have tried mixed rootcrops dessert, a common dessert in these parts. Invigorate yourself with a beer. Fiji Taki Beer is a popular option. To wrap up your night like a local, get a little Bounty White Rum and take it easy after a wonderful day of sightseeing. Fresh tropical fruit juice is a common beverage in this region.
As your adventure comes to an end, you'll be sure to bid Sunset Strip a sad "Ni sa moce"
