Basic, Clean , Excellent Value

Posted Jul 27, 2015
Pros: Excellent value, clean and functional.
Cons: Entrance not clearly signed from the roundabout...hard to find. Also several other hotels in town have similar names, which led to some confusion.
Location: This is within a few minutes walking distance to Gatwick airport (via a footpath in the woods).
We were on a walking trip with several friends, and just needed a place to sleep at our midpoint. We received an excellent value for a 5 bed room. Facilities were basic, but clean and functional, just as we needed! There was some initial trouble with our keycard, and a bit of a wait at reception, but once it was our turn, our needs were quickly dealt with in a courteous manner.

Excellent economy hotel for families

Posted Jul 21, 2015
Pros: It doesn't look much from the outside, but inside it is very nice and bathrooms in room are really nice and children loved the bunk-beds!
Cons: Heating system.
Location: Several garages nearby so provisions could be bought, plus airport is within easy reach by bus/taxi.
Absolutely no problems other than the air conditioning wasn't working properly and as it was a hot evening (we have 2 young children aged 3 and 5) it proved difficult to sleep.

A/C stopped working, bath tub & sink blocked.

Receptionist rude. Cleaning staff very helpful. We were 50 minutes early for check in, but we were told to go away and come back at check in time even though the room was ready. I told the receptionist of problems with our sink and shower. She showed no interest or offered an apology. We would never use this hotel again.

Pros: restaurant/bar
Cons: make sure air conditioning works
Location: terrible location very busy round a bout with non stop noise
Air conditioning did not work and was very hot so had to open windows. The hotel is situated on a very busy noisey roundabout and needless to say I had a very sleepless night! The restaurant was the only saving grace with lovely staff and very nice food. But i would not stay here again due to the noise of the traffic and a sleepless night before travelling to North America.

Pros: The staff was helpful and the bar area upstairs was quite large.
Cons: The windows should open, and we also had trouble getting our shower to work. These things should be checked in each room.
Location: Location was close to the airport, and an easy walk to a lovely old pub.
We stayed only one night and were leaving the next morning, early. We chose to walk to a pub instead of staying in the hotel to eat, but did come back for an evening drink. The staff were very helpful with directions. Also, our wake up call was right on time, and we caught the shuttle to the airport. Only disappointing thing is that we were not able to open our window and have fresh air while sleeping. With air conditioning room was still too warm. Otherwise, we got value for what we paid. Not fancy, but certainly suited the purpose.

Good location, decent value

Posted Jun 24, 2015
Pros: Location. Staff.
Cons: Shower controls will need replacing fairly soon.
Location: Very close to Gatwick airport. Petrol station with shop right outside.
Good budget option close to Gatwick. It looks pretty dire from the outside, but don't be put off. The staff were friendly, the room clean and comfortable. The bathroom fittings are no longer in the prime of their youth, but are clean and serviceable. Bar menu seems slightly overpriced for what you get, but that's not surprising for a place with a captive audience. Airport shuttle is very convenient (note: not free; for a group of more than 2 a taxi would probably be cheaper as it's £3pp) Basically, everything you need for a quick overnight stop before or after a flight, and much more reasonably priced than most places in the area. Would use again.

Practical hotel for overnight stay next to airport

Posted Jun 23, 2015
Pros: convenient location next to airport and cleanliness.
Cons: It would be useful for the hotel to have a map of its location in comparison to the airport and the adjacent village or a brochure of "things to see'
Location: location great
Take hotel bus from airport, and it only takes a few minutes to hotel. The room was spacious, and quiet. The little town of Horley is a few steps from the hotel across a roadway. One can walk through a meadow and look at an old church. The hotel is a quiet place to unwind and relax before the long plane ride home. Bring some snacks such as a macaroni salad and a canned drink if you want to stay in the hotel room.

Comfortable overnight stopover

Posted Jun 19, 2015
Shuttle service throughout the night was helpful. Nice sized rooms. Thin walls so can hear everything. Good shower/bathroom but could have been cleaner (hairs still on the walls of the shower).
