Lovely location, could do with a refurb. Walls very thin, rooms are basic. Spa is good and breakfast is lovely.

Helpful Friendly StaffPosted Apr 18, 2013 on Hotels.com
My wife and I really enjoyed our stay. We found the food was very good and reasonably priced. Staff were helpful in giving us local knowledge of places to go. We were always greeted when we came down to breakfast and dinner and staff were attentive but not intrusive. Our room was value for money but the unsuite was a little small however it was lovely and clean and the water pressure on the shower was pleasantly powerful. We didnt stay long enough to try out the Spa but we will next time we visit.

NIce place but needs a bit of money spending on itPosted Apr 15, 2013 on Hotels.com
Stopover on business trip. The pics look better than the hotel. Booked it because of gym etc but didn't use because too tired. Nice bar and restaurant area, good curry and good service, friendly bar staff. Bedroom a bit tired and superficially clean. lost an item in the room so had a good rummage and it's been a long time since the hoover went under the bed or behind the cabinets. Bathroom tired looking but ok. Shower adequate. NIce staff though and overall good but not outstanding,

Pros: The staff
Cons: the condition of the bathroom and no mattress cover
Location: excellent location in the heart of the town
Rooms are dated and need reburbishment, no mattress cover and heated towel rail didn't work. Staff very helpfull.

Relaxing stayPosted Sep 17, 2012 on Hotels.com
Booked the hotel mainly as a base for sightseeing. It is within reasonable distance of Winchester, Chichester and Portsmouth plus many National Trust and English Heritage places. The hotel was excellent. A spa with swimming pool is attached to the hotel although I didn't take advantage of the facilities. The staff very friendly and helpful. The room was spacious and clean as was the en-suite bathroom. The coffee/tea facilities were more than adequate and the room had a hair drier and iron and ironing board. The hotel features a restaurant which serves breakfast (7-9am), snacks and evening meal. The meals were adequate but not exceptional. Service was relaxed. The hotel offers WiFi at a charge: £5 per hour, £10 per day or £20 per week. Parking was no problem as there was a large secondary car park. Haslemere is a very pleasant town featuring many excellent restaurants and pubs. It features a Green Penfold pillar box which is in use and was installed in honour of John Penfold who was born in the town. The town also features a well which had recently been dressed. We did have a few minor gripes. There could have been a few more hangers in the cupboard. The bed sheets were rather rough. The walls are a little thin and we were woken by alarms of adjacent people getting up early.

too short, sadly just the one night. But, we would definetly stay again, and would recommend it to friends.
top qualityPosted Jul 1, 2012 on Hotels.com
friendliest staff i have ever met in a hotel, good quality food and very clean room. ironing board in room was useful, TV reception was poor but the positives made up for that

Ok but...Posted Apr 17, 2012
Hotel seems a bit shabby compared to its content online, and could do with a touch of redecoration. Overall it was clean but slightly messy in bits with things like a pile of used bed linen left in our doorway which was not removed from the hall by the time we checked-out. The staff were pleasant but being asked to pay on check-out when you have already pre-paid Expedia suggest a lack of attention to detail. This also seemed bizarre (or just overly trusting) as we had not provided a credit card for security on check-in. The place was clean and reasonably quiet but I would try somewhere else next time I visit Haslemere.
