Beautiful hotel, excellent staff

Posted Mar 16, 2015
Pros: Fairly clean and quiet. Very friendly staff.
Cons: A bit of upgrading such as new mattresses.
Location: We chose to stay here because the event was being held there.
The mattress needed replacing. The exterior of the room's windows were pretty dirty. The staff appeared very concerned with our comfort. The restaurant had excellent fish and chips, good food prices, and excellent waitresses. I would have appreciated more vegetarian options.

Disappointed in some Staff.

Posted Mar 1, 2015
Pros: Room & room service. Old Hotel, but nice atmosphere.
Cons: Staff training; make sure Staff is aware of booking advertising & policies. Not something the customer should have to prove, remind, or argue about.
Location: Lots; close to Ocean Beach, White Rock & Vancouver.
Staff refused to provide free breakfast advertised when I booked room. Had to prove it to her, AFTER I already paid for breakfast, which she at first refused to refund. Suggested in future I should check with Hotel after booking with Expedia to make sure advertising matched?????????? This REALLY ticked me off. I was the Customer, NOT the Owner, Manager, or Employee of the Hotel. Talked to a different Staff person, who suggested talking to the manager next day, who did not show.

Nice pool

Very loud guests and security sucks, I don't like paying to listen to people party all night.

Beautiful Hotel

Posted Feb 12, 2015
This a hotel was clearly built with a vision. It has everything right there to make it a first class travel destination. Unfortunately it is unkept and uncared for to a point where a travelor will likely stay there one time but never return. The rooms are filthy. The bathtub in my room had a ring around it that indicated it had not been cleaned in some time. The staff are sullen and unfriendly. Fortuneately there are other hotels that may not be as pretty as this one but at least they are clean and the staff are trained to welcome the very people that make their job possible.

Old but nice

Great staff. Upgraded me to a nicer room after the first stay. Make sure to ask for a room that does not face the freeway.

Close to border & beautiful White Rock

Posted Jan 19, 2015
Pros: The location is great. The pool and spa area was nice.
Cons: The rooms need upgrading.
Location: You are close to the border for shopping in the US. White Rock is very close for great restaurants and beautiful beaches.
I had heard how great this hotel was, but I was surprised at the condition of our room. The carpet was worn out, the bathroom door was pealing. The show tiles had mold on them. The walls need a paint job. I felt overall the hotel needs a face lift. The restaurant staff were great, and the breakfast was good. A bit of a disappointment over all.
