Hotel close to Gatwick airportPosted Nov 27, 2013
Pros: It was newly renovated and clean.
Cons: I would have liked more details on the car company they recommended: it was in a different location than the bay where the guesthouse buses are.
I was very happy to be able to check in late and enjoy a continental breakfast early the next day due to an early flight.

Excellent service by guest house ownerPosted Oct 4, 2013
Nothing special about the hotel, but the warm atmosphere and friendly owner (Clive) made our stay so satisfying. Shops, supermarket and food outlets were about 10 minutes walk from hotel. Good English breakfast.

Nice and cozy. Near to airportPosted Oct 2, 2013
Pros: The staff was very nice
Cons: Can't ask for more considering the price. I could ask for better amenities or bigger room or for receptionist 24 hr, but then the price would be more
Location: close to airport
It was close to the airport which was very convenient and the price was very reasonable for a stop over night at Gatwick. I was surprise by the personal attention that Clive and Paul provided during breakfast. For the very reasonable price of a one night stay, I expected a bowl of cereal, a muffin and tea. I was asked how I wanted my eggs cooked, was provided sausage and ham, had sauteed mushroom and baked bean. You could toast your own slice of bread and could help yourself with cereal, milk and juice. Tea or coffee was provided as well. When it was time to head back to the airport, Clive offered to drive me there complementary rather than have me call and pay for a taxi. The staff was very friendly

Very friendly and welcoming although a bit of a shame that we couldn't have a cooked breakfast before 8am. We did however stay over a bank holiday so I guess weekdays may be different. Lovely family friendly pub just a couple of hundred yards away which was just the ticket for a family meal after traipsing around Chessington for the day!

The Staff makes this place exceptionalPosted Aug 12, 2013
Pros: close to the airport, clean, comfortable beds, good shower and bathroom, cozy.
Location: We were just in transit for one night
I was traveling with my 3 kids and needed a safe place as well as comfortable. Jaqui not only assisted us in finding the right transport from and to the airport but also made sure that we had food before our departure (given that we were leaving before anything else was opened). Jaqui you are fantastic. I wish every hotel had someone like you!

Quiet and home like guest housePosted Jul 18, 2013
Pros: Staff. Specially owner.
Cons: Town itself.
Horley is just a small town around Gatwick airport. Town centre is just 5 min away and every shops are within your sight. You cannot expect a fancy hangout. But there is a very nice restaurant. Le Gourmet. It sounds French. But it is written as Spanish Restaurant. Bottled water is from Portugal. Some Pasta and Skewer dishes give you a Spanish cuisine with a hint of Portugese. Dishes are hooky and crispy.

Ideal stop near airportPosted Jun 21, 2013
Pros: very clean and friendly
Cons: small rooms, but for overnight stop, more than sufficient. Ensuite shower room very clean.
Location: Very close to airport but not near flight path, so quiet.
Quiet guest house kept very clean and welcoming. We used it as a stop the night before an early morning flight. They agreed for our car to stay there while we were away, which was cheaper than the other car parks and arranged for a cheap local taxi to take us to the airport. Travel time 5-10 mins. On our return,at about 8am, we were very kindly offerred a free breakbreakfast, which was really just what we needed after a long overnight flight. Will be going back.

Excellent and friendly servicePosted May 22, 2013 on Hotels.com
The Ambers is conveniently located for any Gatwick transfers. What we didn't expect was the friendliness and high quality service provided. They use a cost effective taxi company for any local journeys. The room was comfortable and spotlessly clean but not huge.
