Excellent Weekend Stay with FriendsPosted Sep 8, 2014
Pros: Lovely surroundings, room decor
Cons: Nothing really
Location: Good location - easy road links from Birmingham and the North.
Check in was very personal. Great that Wedding Guests were in a separate area so that we could enjoy the bar and restaurant without crowds of people around. Shame we had to wait until 8.30pm for a table for dinner - but it was our own fault as we did not book a table at the time of making the room reservation.

Wonderful for a wedding reception.Posted Aug 24, 2014
Pros: Nice grounds.
Cons: The geese can be a bit noisy. It didn't bother us as we were in the old part of the hotel but heard from others that it disturbed their night's sleep
Location: Didn't explore the area.
Food and service excellent. Staff very helpful. Would recommend to others and would also recommend as a wedding reception. The room was beautiful and we had a lovely outlook.

Lovely setting for an historic building.Posted Jul 29, 2014
Cons: To be pernickety, the toilet roll quality could be improved!! While service standards were very good, they fell a little short of the best - a little
Set in delightful parkland setting, the hotel is based on an ancient historic manor house. The fairly recent extension has been built in a very sympathetic manner to the older parts. On arrival we were dealt with promptly and courteously. Our room was excellent - roomy, comfortable and clean. Breakfast service next morning was very good and the food choice and quality was also very good.

Amazing experience!Posted Jun 3, 2014 on Hotels.com
Hotel setting is fantastic, grounds were brilliant for a walk round and the moat adds to this. We were here at a wedding and couldn't fault the staff or the hotel at all, a great day and night!!

Comfort and servicePosted May 6, 2014
Helpful staff, atmospheric, comfortable and relaxing hotel with a reasonable spa. But be careful of the post code - the one in all the confirmations was the emergency entrance and a good mile or so from the proper entrance.

Great hotel in a great locationPosted May 6, 2014
Pros: Even though the location is great, as soon as you drive through the gates grandeur sets upon you. The employees that make this a wonderful experience.
I only stayed here for one night as i was attending a wedding. However the experience of the hotel was wonderful. As soon as i walked through the doors i was greater by the welcoming smile of Tamara at reception. She was a breath of fresh air to other receptionists that i have come across in other 4/5 star hotels across the Uk and abroad. Nothing was to much either for her or the 2 other employees who were working with her. The hotels facilities were of a high order, this included the swimming pool and fitness facilities.

Surprised by how good it wasPosted Apr 22, 2014
Pros: Moat, bed comfort, staff, grounds
Cons: Less chemicals in pool
Picked this as an inexpensive stop off near Birmingham on the way up to the Lake District from London. The first surprise was that the hotel was in what looked like a castle, complete with moat! Everything else was really nice too. Friendly staff, super comfortable bed, good breakfast, nice spa and lovely grounds. The fitness centre was also good. The only downside was that the pool and hot tub were highly chlorinated, which made our eyes sting.

A fantastic anniversary treat!Posted Apr 11, 2014 on Hotels.com
Room was lovely, and small touches such as remembering I had mentioned over the phone that it was our wedding anniversary made our stay even more special. We were shown to our room by a very knowledgeable and accommodating concierge. Spa treatments were just what we needed, and we were able to completely relax in the hotel and its grounds (which are picture postcard!). We were treated like royalty at evening dinner, being offered canapes and an Amuse bouche (neither of which were expected) as well as fantastic service from the restaurant team (thank you Hubert) topped off by coffee and personalised chocolates in front of the open fire after dinner (and of course the food was amazing!). My only comment for improvement - I had requested early check in and suggested our time of arrival, however due to a busy night prior, we had to wait a little longer to access our room. Did it spoil the experience - definitely not, and we would absolutely stay again!
