Beautiful gardens but poor room conditionsPosted Dec 2, 2013 on Hotels.com
The gardens and swimming pool are gorgeous but the rooms are horribly old and smelled of cigarattes. When we entered the hotel, it was extremely grand and luxurious but once we got into the Pan Pacific Club executive room, I was shocked to find out that we paid an upgraded price for a room without a view! The windows were blocked off and we felt like we were living in a basement. Disappointed with the rooms. The front desk staff are very friendly and helpful. The exchange rate at the hotel is better than the banks. The neighbourhood is not great as we couldn't find decent clean restaurants.

Great oasis in the middle of our tripPosted Nov 16, 2013
We booked this hotel as a place just to stay for one night in the middle of a busy China itinerary. We upgraded to the "Pacific Club." The value provided in the free happy hour drinks and appetizer bar and the free breakfast buffet easily justified the price of the upgrade, and the rooms and service were terrific. I'd definitely return.

Good and comfortablePosted Nov 15, 2013
Pros: The building, the garden and the smiling faces
Cons: I didn't stay at the top rate rooms and no wifi in the room. Have to sit in the lobby for wifi connection.
Location: The Panmen Garden was just behind the hotel. If one takes the time to stroll and sit and admire this exquisite garden.
The hotel rooms are spacious and well laid out. The housekeeping staff managed to impress me with a tidy and clean room every time I returned. Requests by phone are promptly dealt with. I tried the Chinese restaurant for dim sum dishes which were of very high quality though I had to wait for a long time. The staff in the front office were always helpful and courteous yet the standard of English was below average. A reception staff called James spoke very fluent English and he assisted me in planning my day trips to various spots including their top noodle shop. Overall I had a very enjoyable stay at the Pan Pacific Suzhou .

Oasis in SuzhouPosted Nov 6, 2013
Pros: The hotel and it's amenities were superb.
Cons: Staff could have been more helpful showing us to our room.
Location: PanMen gardens are next door. Master of the Nets garden is within walking distance. Great little restaurant for breakfast just down the street.
The hotel is a welcome respite from the busy city. It backs on to the PanMen historical area - your room key allows access to a beautiful park. The hotel has an odd layout and it wasn't easy to find our room (and we weren't shown the way) but once we figured it out we were happy with everything.

A garden-style hotelPosted Oct 29, 2013
Pros: The style.
Cons: Some interior need to be upgraded.
Location: Stayed there for two nights, all good. There are not much nearby but as it is a small city so it is easy to go around by taxi.
The garden style architecture merger into Suzhou environment quite well, although some interior need to be upgraded. There are dust at some corners.

Serene hotel groundsPosted Oct 21, 2013 on Hotels.com
Loved this hotel with a their own huge suzhou garden ground. Also an ancient pagoda but it will be going under renovation soon. The free laundry service provided for the executive level rooms are much appreciated. The staff are very helpful and pleasant. Will definitely stay in this hotel again.

Gorgeous- great escape from ShanghaiPosted Oct 9, 2013 on Hotels.com
The hotel was gorgeous; the grounds were terrific to walk around in and you get in free to PanMen Gardens which are fantastic. It adjoins the hotel so you can pop in and out near opening and closing times, which affords the best light for taking photos and avoids the enormous tour groups that are present during national holidays! We didn't venture out other than to the gardens and spent the rest of the time relaxing in the hotel. The pool was a bit cold, to be honest, but the hot tub and sauna back in the locker rooms were a nice treat afterwards!

Pan Pacific FantasticPosted Sep 24, 2013 on Hotels.com
We chose the club rooms - worth the upgrade. Hotel has great amenities and pool. Breakfast buffet was very good and restaurants were in the area. Subway required a taxi as did Guanqian Jie walking street. Shiquan Jie aka bar street has some great shopping and nightlife. Great place to escape.
