Terrible!Posted Jan 24, 2015 on Hotels.com
I booked this hotel via hotels.com for one night. The price included room and breakfast. Upon arrival when I checked in I was told that there would not be any cooked breakfast but just Continental breakfast as the owner/chef was on holiday. Later on I was told that they would give me a muffin and a croissant in the evening to take to my room and when I asked about a hot drink, they told me that I could make tea in my room as there was a kettle. Upon complaining I was also given some yoghurt and some fruit to take up to my room, no fruit juice, no jam, of course no toast. I was the only guest that day in the hotel, however that is definitely not an excuse for this kind of treatment.

Worth of the money!Posted Dec 19, 2014 on Hotels.com
I went to ski trip on Swadlincote with another seven friends, so we literature booked the whole 4 rooms. The hotel is clean, staff is nice, and definitely worth of the money. Plus the food in the bar is really really nice, and we had the fantastic mulled wines as well.

Good beer and food, room small and basic, quietPosted Nov 20, 2014
Pros: Food and atmosphere
Cons: Bed and room decoration
Location: Was there for work, I guess I would visit Ashby de la Zouch if I had time.
The bar and the mill wheel reastaurant are pleasant, good food, but you better close your eyes and go to sleep right after entering your room#2, no space to do some work on the tiny table.

Great staffPosted Oct 8, 2014
Pros: The general atmosphere was lovely
Cons: Lock on male toilet door fixed in bar area, but I'm having to pick
Location: Quiet location, close to alton towers
The hotel was lovely, staff always seemed chatty and friendly and the room was just fine. Breakfast was lovely and it was really tidy, gotta say it's the staff who make it special as they really were great, Only thing I would suggest is checking the booking before you arrive as they didn't have ours down when I called beforehand.

AwesomePosted Oct 1, 2013 on Hotels.com
The staff was so helpful, the locals extremely friendly, room was very clean and comfy, If i am in that area again I will stay there again, The beer selection was fantastic, food all freshly cooked and tasted amazing. Easy access to local amenities but you really don't need to leave the hotel. Thank you for making me so welcome.

Great place to stayPosted Mar 30, 2013
Pros: Great friendly staff and fantastic food
Stayed here when we went to Tamworth Snowdome- the staff were so friendly, obviously a place where locals go to have a drink and a bite to eat too. Had a meal in the restaurant, I had the best steak I've had in absolutely ages and as I eat out quite a lot in London that is some praise. Would definitely stay here again and recommend highly.
